About half and hour later, I'd done my hair and make up and gotten dressed.

My brown hair was in loose waves around my face. I checked the time. 8:15am. School starts at 8:40, so my friends should be picking me up soon.
Of course, I have a car, a really flashy one, but even though I am the popular girl, I still don't like to flaunt my money.
I grab my purse and phone and walk into the hall.
I knock on my brother, Michaels door.
"What?" I open it slightly.
"Hey, Mikey." He looks up at me, his brown hair a mess on his forehead.
"Hey, Sis. What's up?" I sit down on his bed.
"Mikey. Are you ok?" I ask and he rolls his eyes, looking away.
"Really? Aspen, look, I appreciate you caring about me, but I don't need your sympathy. I don't need you badgering me to get better. I'm trying, ok?" I sigh, wringing my hands together.
"Ok. Just, please, please be careful, Mikey. I can't lose you." He sends me a sad smile and he grabs my hand.
"I'm here for you sis. Always. Wether you like it or not, I'm sticking around." I smile at him.
"Thanks, Mikey." He squeezes my hand.
"Now get to school and do your popular thing." I chuckle at him and let go of his hand, making my way downstairs.

"So. Cafe or shopping after school?" My friend Alice asks from the backseat of Sages car.
"Hmmm." I sigh, trying not to think about having to go back home. "Whichever will get us out for a while."
"Shopping it is then!" Sage squeals.
I smile and lean back against the leather seat. I listen to them giggling and singing along to the radio. This is perfect. Well, as close as I can get to perfect. I just wish I didn't have to hide myself.

We pull up out the front of Fern Valley High and I sigh.
We all pull lipgloss out of our purses and reapply our already glossy lips. I climb out of the car, Alice and Sage following closely.
"Hey, Aspen!" Someone calls out. I look to see who it was and find a younger kid I tutor.
"Hey, Liam. How are you?" I smile at him.
"I'm great! Thanks for helping me, I aced the test!" He grins at me.
"That's great, Liam. I'll catch you later." I wave and walk away.
"You're too nice, Aspen. You help everyone. You need time to yourself." Sage informs me from my side. I shrug.
"He's a good kid." I say, ending the conversation.

I feel a strong pair of arms wrap around my waist and a face nuzzle into my neck. I giggle.
"Hey, Axel." He smiles against my neck and I turn around, wrapping my arms around his neck.
"Hey, gorgeous." His lips reach mine and I hear Sage and Alice giggle behind me. I roll my eyes and pull away from Axel.
"There's a game on tonight. Can you be there?" He asks me, intertwining our fingers.
"Of course I'll be there! I love watching you play." He smiles.
"You'll wear my jersey right?"
"Definitely! I have to go. See you at lunch?" I ask.
"Mhmm" he mumbles, his lips against mine. I pull away and smile as he walks off.

Sage and Alice walk beside me, one on each side, and link our arms together.
"You're so lucky. You get to date Axel James!" Alice sighs. I nudge her side.
"Wipe off that frown. Jason's coming." I untangle our arms and whisk Sage away. We watch as Jason walks over to Alice and the begin to chat. I roll my eyes.
"That girl." Sage smiles next to me.
"I'll meet you in class? Max just texted. He wants me to meet him outside." She asks. I smile.
"Course! I have to see Mr Adelaide anyway. Go see Max." She shoots me a smile and struts away.
