It's now Monday morning and I haven't left my room all weekend. Not even for food. I had no way of contacting anyone since my parents took my electronics. I'm dreading going to school just because it means leaving my room. There is no way in hell im walking through my house we're my vicious, abusive father is. I sit on my bed, completely unaware of the time. School could've already started, I don't know. But I kind of want to see Isaac. And that's not going to happen if I lock myself in my room. I got to my bathroom and wash my face.
I pull on an outfit and braid my hair.I grab my already packed back and look around my room. Getting ready, check. That's all well and good, but how do i leave? I wander over to my window, surprisingly with no bars; I thought my father would've barred me in. I peer outside, down the two story drop to the ground. Fuck it, I'm getting out of here.
I open the window, carefully, hoping it doesn't make a noise. I lower myself out, clinging to the windowsill. Maybe this was a bad idea. Oh well, too late now. I decide to just drop and hope to don't kill myself.I hesitantly let go of the window sill and land on my butt. Ouch. That's gonna bruise. With much difficulty, I stand up, and brush the grass and dirt of my ass.
I decide to walk into town and get some food, praying that I won't be late for school.
I reach a small, vintage cafe near the school across from a park.
I go inside and walk up to the counter. The boy looks up.
"Hi! What can I get you?" He asks, smiling.
"Hey. Can I please have a coffee and some toast?" I ask. He nods.
"Sure. That'll be $10.50." I rummage through my purse, hoping I have some spare change. All I find is a $5 note and a 50c coin. I look at the change in my hand and frown.
"Uh. You know what, don't worry. I'm sorry." I say to the boy and go to leave.
"Wait! It's on the house."
"What?"
"Yeah, it's on the house. You look like you haven't slept or eaten in a while. Please, it's on me." I smile.
"Really?" He nods. "Thank you so much! Here, at least take this." I say handing him the change I had. He shakes his head.
"No need. Take a seat and I'll bring it out." I smile gratefully and make my way to a small table at the back of the cafe.A few minutes later, the boy walks over with my toast and coffee.
"Thank you so much." I say.
"No problem. Enjoy."
"Excuse me?" I ask as he walks away. He turns around with a smile. "Uh, do you by any chance have the time?" I ask. He glances at his watch.
"8:00"
"Thank you." He smiles and walks off. Perfect, I have 40 minutes until school starts.I finish my breakfast, saying one last grateful thank you to the boy, and make my way to school.

"Aspen!" The familiar, husky voice calls. I turn around, a smile creeping into my lips. Sure enough, Isaac is walking towards me, his hair in a quiff and his famous glasses sitting on his nose. He's wearing a plain black t shirt and tan shorts.
"Hey!" I call, meeting him halfway across the oval.
"You, Uh, you look nice." He says awkwardly, rubbing the back of his neck. I look down at my outfit.
"Thanks! How are you?" I ask as we start walking toward the school.
"I'm good. Great, actually. You?"
"I'm ok." I shrug, playing with the ends of my braid. I feel his eyes on me.
"Ok? Something happen?" He asks, soft blue eyes lingering on me. I sigh.
"Kinda. But let's not worry about that. Oh look. The bell went." I say quickly and rush off, leaving him looking bewildered behind me.—————————
