The next few days were the most unbearable ones. Max tried telling Tom to make things up with me but it fell upon deaf ears. The worst part was that Lea had to go home after the Sheffield concert because her sister was graduating and then Nareesha had some “shoe business” she had to take care of in London. Real, nice timing. To just add to the whole situation, Nathan decided to keep a distance with me and that really hurt because he was usually the one I turn to when Tom and I had our feuds.

The moment they got back into the tour bus after one of their concerts, I did a sudden exclamation.

“Sucks to be in a fight and all, I’ll just go back to London first thing tomorrow. You lads have a balling time for the rest of your tour,” I exclaimed, holding in my tears.

Truth be told, I loved the whole time I spent all this while with them but circumstances changed and I hated the cold tension that was hovering above us. Well, “us” meaning Tom, Nathan and me, of course. The moment I ended my proclamation, Max and Siva gave sympathetic smiles and nodded in understanding.

“What is wrong with you lot? Tom, Erny, you’ve been at it for now almost a week. I don’t understand how you do it but this is clearly stupid! Tom, Nathan, you two are not just band mates. What happened to being friends?! Get your shit together! DAMN IT!” yelled Jay, breaking the silence that was already enveloping all of us.

Another long silence greeted us.

“Then… Erny… can I talk to you?” I was expecting Tom to say it first but instead Nathan became the bigger man.

“Whatever… I’m out going to meet some fans,” Tom mumbled and rolled his eyes.

Jay jerked his head in a nod of approval to let me go and talk to Nathan first and not chase after Tom. After all, everybody knows how Tom can be ridiculous with his temper. Nathan already got off the tour bus when I finally made a move to go down and talk to him.

“Sort of expected Tom to say that,” I said when I joined Nathan at the back of the tour bus.

“Sort of too,” Nathan replied, honestly.

There were three girls at the side of the bus and they were all taking pictures and laughing about with Tom. They all looked familiar, must be fans who attended their concert more than once.

“Can’t believe he chose fans over fixing things up with me,” I said quietly.

“Don’t ever bring that up for argument, things will just get messier,” Nathan warned. “Anyway, I wanted to say I was sorry for that night. I was out of line,” his voice gentler.

He looked at me with that warm hazel eyes of his, bringing stupid fluttering in my stomach. This was not supposed to happen.

“I want you and Tom to be the way you were. I’ll apologize to him after this and make him talk to you,” he continued, still giving me the gentle smile.

“I’ve missed talking to you,” I sighed. “Forgiven and I don’t know how to thank you if Tom actually listens to you,” I continued.

“If it has to be, I’ll do anything to see you happy,” he said grinning, taking my hands in his and squeezing it gently. “I hear no more giggling whatsoever, let’s catch Tom before he gets back up to the bus,” he said, pulling me forward.

“This is easier than I thought. Should have said sorry a few days back,” I laughed.

And now, to make things right with Tom, that’s all I ever wanted, I said to myself.

As we walked the perimeter of the bus from the back to the side, the sight that greeted us shocked us. I instantly let go of my hand from Nathan’s and covered my mouth, gasping.
