XIV: Going Into Hiding

Helena couldn't go to sleep the thought of her children getting taken away from her was something she didn't want to happen. She knew she couldn't fight The Clave, and for sure she wasn't bringing anyone into this for the task would be too dangerous. Helena was stuck she was running out of ideas and time two days had passed and she had the rest of the 24 hours before one child would be taken away forever. Helena had looked outside of her window, in her office, and saw everyone talking, laughing, playing, and drawing. 

Helena: If only if I could have it like this forever...

She started to tear up, and she used a finger to wipe a tear that escaped from her eye. Through her sobs she heard all the noises of what the children made. Katelyn and Josh happened to be passing, but stopped to comfort their mother-figure. 

Josh: Have them take me...

Ms.Pinewhisk had looked up, and turned her head to Josh and her expression had read 'No'. 

Helena: I can't let you do that. 

Josh: You have to otherwise The Clave will do eveything to get what they want. 

Katelyn: That's the problem Josh you're teenager they won't take you. 

Josh: Well then who? 

Helena: No one. 

Katelyn/Josh: What? 

Josh: You know you can't fight The Clave by yourself. 

Helena: I know, and I am not having to start a war here. 

Katelyn: Well what can we do? 

Helena: My last choice is...we have to hide. 

Helena never thought she would ever said the word hide for it can be a powerful word to some people, especially ones who are fighters. 

Josh: Ms.Pinewhisk you know we can't hide from The Clave forever. 

Helena: I know...

Katelyn: Plus we can't just let them push us around forever we have to fight. 

Helena: And bring risk to everyone, including the young ones. 

Katelyn: But they're actually amazing fighters if they can handle training then they can handle soldiers. 

Helena: They're only beginning, and who knows what if Imogen goes to any Warlocks for assistance? 

Katelyn: Ms.Pinewhisk, you're talking to a Warlock right now. 

Helena: Yes, but a Warlock in Idris and they are known to be extremely powerful. 

Josh and Katelyn looked at each other, and they both nodded in agreement for Helena's plan. 

Helena: I'm so sorry. 

The next day came, and Helena ordered all of her Warlock children to put up the wards so no one can get in. All the gateways and portal to the orphanage were either closed or cut off as for the children they were ordered to stay in their rooms and to keep their doors and windows locked up tight. The kids were scared, and mostly confused of why this was happening but that was meant to be a secret, a secret that no one could ever tell. While most kids were shuttering with fear, and confusion Alyssa(Rosemary) was trying to figure out what was going on. She was talking about this with Hector who they communicated with using cans attached to some string. 

Alyssa: What do you think is going on? 

Hector: I have no idea if this was some kind of attack then shouldn't Ms.Pinewhisk taken us all somewhere to where we would be safe. 

Alyssa: Maybe it's not an attack. 

Hector: That explains it then...

Alyssa: What is it? 

Hector: Sometimes I hang out with some teenagers, and they tell each other secrets. 

Alyssa: Like? 

Hector: If I tell you, will you promise not to say anything? 

Alyssa: Cross my heart.

Hector: Okay, so they said something about a person coming to the orphanage and taking a child away from here to send them to someplace. 

Alyssa: Where is it? 

Hector: They don't know. 

Alyssa: Well if everyone is trying to keep everyone safe then this place might not be a very nice one. 

Hector: That's what I think. 

Alyssa(Rosemary) heard footsteps coming towards her hallway. 

Alyssa: Quick pull the can. 

Hector pulled the can away as fast as he could even though it landed on the ground, but he quickly pulled it to his window. Alyssa(Rosemary) quickly closed her window, and sat down pretending to play with her necklace. The door had opened, and it was only Katelyn standing in the doorway. 

Katelyn: Hey Alyssa. 

Alyssa: Hey Katelyn, is this thing over now? 

Katelyn: It won't be over for a little while. 

Alyssa: Katelyn, what's going on? I don't get it why Ms.Pinewhisk is doing all of these things and whatever. 

Katelyn: I know that this all looks scary, but don't worry this will all be over before you know it. 

Alyssa: Okay. 

Alyssa(Rosemary) was starting to feel a little bit, maybe Katelyn was right she shouldn't have to worry about everything that's going on. All her worry was almost gone until Josh entered the room....

Josh: Katelyn? 

Katelyn: Yeah? 

Josh: You have to come down here now. 

From the expression that both girls saw it wasn't good at all. 

Katelyn: Okay, Alyssa stay here okay you know the rules. 

Alyssa: Okay. 

Katelyn and Josh exited the room,and Alyssa(Rosemary) was about to close the door but her curiosity got the best of her so when she saw the Katelyn and Josh were gone she quietly followed them.
