LVI: Everyone Has A Choice

Maria: What do you mean she's gone? 

Izzy: I don't know, I went to wake her up and I pulled up the blankets, and I didn't see her. 

Maria: Dakota, where the hell are you? 

The whole entire Institute was looking for Dakota, but no luck so far. Maria was getting frustrated, and she felt so helpless that she couldn't find a single trace of her Parabati. 

Alyssa: Maria, you need to be-

Maria: I can't be calm, not until I see Dakota coming through those front steps. 

Alyssa: Maria-

Maria: Just shut up, Alyssa, you have no idea what it's like to lose someone that you are close to. How would you feel if someone in you life went missing, and you have no idea if that person was alive or dead? 

Alyssa: I would be in pieces...

Maria: This...This is what I am...pieces...

Maria was suffering, and even though she could feel what was going on through her rune. She was unease, and the scary thing was that she couldn't feel anything. Luckily Jace and Alec, helped her out a little bit. 

Maria: Guys, I've never been this scared in my life. 

Alec: There might be a way you can track her. 

Maria: And what's that? 

Alec looked at Jace, and Jace wasn't really looking forward to what Alec was planning. 

Jace: Alec, we can't do this. 

Alec: She's desperate. 

Maria: Can't do what? 

No answer, but if there was anything that Maria wanted was Dakota. 

Maria: Please, Dakota needs me you guys and I can't...I can't live without her... 

Alec saw the desperation in her eyes, and that only reminded of himself when he was missing Jace at his side. He pulled out an emerald looking rock with a Parabati rune engraved on it. 

Maria: What is that? 

Alec: A Parabati Addamas. 

Maria: I thought an Iron Sister could only have control over that. 

Alec: Clary's mother gave it to us, we can use it to track Dakota. 

Jace: However, there is a catch. 

Maria: Whatever it is, I'll do it. 

Jace: Not that kind of catch. 

Alec: Once you activate it, you have to stay near the surface. 

Maria: And what happens if I don't? 

Alec: You won't be able to come back here. 

Jace: Plus when a Parabati initiates the contact, it could be waxing on your body, on your mind. 

Maria: It's fine. 

Alec: Not many have come back to talk about it. 

Maria: I said it's fine...give me the stone. 

Alec and Jace looked at each other, and reluctantly gave her the stone. Both boys were still unsure of this, so they sent in Hector and Alyssa(Rosemary) to be with her at all times.
