XXXI: Let The Past Unwind

Alyssa(Rosemary) was tired, even thought she woke up from a nap, she couldn't stop thinking about what the demon said. All she wanted to do was go down to the cell, and beg for answers about what it knows. Yet, she wasn't allowed Madame Mignard made it very clear, and she didn't want to break any rules. How ironic that in a letter that Izzy sent said the complete opposite of what to do.

It's like I always say it's better to break the rules, the follow them. You have to know what happened to them Alyssa. Not everyone ever gets to know what happened to their loved ones, and you constantly have a fear that you never know if they're alive or dead.

Alyssa(Rosemary) had to admit she has a point, and if she didn't get an answer in the next three seconds she would either punch something or someone by accident. She got up from her bed, and ran all the way to the cell when she was almost there she ran into Maria.

Maria: Alyssa?

Alyssa: Hey, uh, what are you doing?

Maria: Nothing, what are you doing?

Alyssa: Nothing.

Alyssa(Rosemary) saw a key behind Maria's back, and she recognized that key from anywhere the cell key.

Alyssa: What's behind your back?

Maria: Nothing.

She knew she was lying it was written all over her face, and they both knew it.

Alyssa: Was that the cell key I just saw?

Maria: No.

Alyssa(Rosemary) had murmured a spell, and got from what was behind Maria's back and she was right it was the key.

Maria: Alright you caught me, I wanted to sneak into the cell so that way I could get some...answers.

Alyssa: Is this about your friends-

Maria: They weren't my friends...they were my older, twin brothers.

Alyssa: What?

Maria: I know it's confusing, but...I'll tell you come on.

Maria and Alyssa(Rosemary) where going down a long staircase, and that was only the beginning of Maria's story.

Maria: It was long time ago, my mom, Linda Dane, was from America but came here because she always wanted to live in Paris as a kid so she did. When she embarked on her journey as a new citizen she met a guy named Yvon Cellier, and he was a man filled with wonders and excitement.

Alyssa: I'm assuming he's your father?

Maria: Yeah, but will get to that later. Anyway, my mom and my dad both got married and had settled in a nice house a few miles from here.

Alyssa: They never lived in an Institute?

Maria: No, they thought it was best if they live somewhere else so that way they could raise a family together. Their wishes came true when my mom found out that she was pregnant with twins, and they were going ballistic because they wanted to make sure everything was perfect. After a few months, the twins were born they named them Jeffery and Jordan, and it seemed that everything in their lives was going great. As time passed Jeffery and Jordan had begged to their parents for a baby sister, but they thought that two kids was enough. No matter how many times they pleaded, mom and dad always kept saying no and that's when they had enough of always being told that word. One night, the two boys snuck out of the house, and went to a Warlock named Judith Ardouin and they asked her to give them a baby girl. She said that she would do it if they got specific ingredients to make me, and they agreed.

Alyssa: All this time to create you?

Maria: Yup.

Alyssa: What were the ingredients?

Maria: It was a bag of flour, a bucket of water, three rose petals, a branch from an oak tree, and a blood from any relative. When the ingredients have been collected, Jeffery and Jordan's dream had came true. I was made, and I was held in their arms all they did was just adore every single bit of who I was. What they didn't realize was the consequences of what happened when the truth had came out to my parents they were furious. It sounded like they didn't want to have me at all, or in their life. The parents told my brothers to get rid off me, or drop me off at an orphanage.

Alyssa: By the angel...

Maria: In the end, Jeffery and Jordan decided that if their parents were never going to accept me into their family then the three of us would go to an orphanage. My brothers had found the Paris Institute, and remained here. That's how it was, the one faithful had came my brothers had went on another mission but never came back. Everyone tried to figure out what happened to them, but in the end they were pronounced dead after a couple of Shadowhunters hand found both of their pendants.

Alyssa: Do you have it?

Maria: Yeah, sometimes I wear it and sometimes I don't, but when I put it on it almost feels like I'm taking them with me wherever I go. Another thing that happened in the aftermath of their deaths, I blamed myself for it because I wasn't there to protect them or at least be there to help them.

Alyssa: Maria...

Maria : I know I shouldn't, but I just can't help it just one of the perks of having human emotions I guess.

Alyssa: I'm so sorry...

Maria: It's alright, come on we're almost there.

Maria and Alyssa(Rosemary) had arrived at the cell, and were welcomed by Hector and Dakota.
