Brynn's POV

As I'm waiting at the front porch I see my Uber pull up to their house. I walk to it and open the door and sit down. My Uber looks around 30-35 yrs old, she's seems nice and pretty. I don't know why she would want to be an Uber driver but I mean, you gotta do what you gotta do.

"Hi sweetie where to?" She asks. She has a slight country accent.

"2591 Delmont Avenue please," I tell her.

"No problem, feel free to help yourself to some snacks in the pockets. Would you like the aux cord?" She offers.

"Sure," I accept.

She then hands me the chord and I plug it into my phone.

"Alright buckle up sugar we're gonna get going," she instructs me.

I then buckle my seatbelt. I go through my playlist and press We the Party. The introduction starts and I hear Daniel start to play through the car. In the pockets are chips and snacks. I pick up a bag of kettle corn and open it up.

The chorus is coming up and the lady says something.

"If you don't mind me asking, who is this singing?"

"It's a band called Why Don't We," I tell her.

"Oh, they sound wonderful," she compliments.

"They're my friend's band," I reply.

"Your friends a guy I'm guessing,"

Here we go.

"Yes ma'am,"

"Oh no need to use that fancy language with me. It's not necessary," she informs me.

"Okay,"

"Anyways, this boy,"

"He's just a friend," I tell her.

"Mhm,"

Man for and Uber driver she's quite nosy.

The song ends and Sam Smith's song "Too Good at Goodbyes" comes on. (highly recommend)

...

After around 20 minutes later the Uber driver arrives at my house.

"Alright sweetie, here we are," She says.

I reach in my pocket and pay her for the ride. I open the door, but before I step out I tell her,

"Thank you for the ride, have a nice day,"

I step out and close the door behind me and walk to the front door. As I'm walking I hear the car drive away. I pull out my key from my backpack and unlock the door.

"Mamá? Papá?" I shout through the house.

I see my mom come out from the kitchen.

"Mija how did you get home?" She asks.

"My friends drove me back," I lied. She doesn't like it when I use Ubers.

"Oh okay, one day I wanna meet these friends of yours, you've been hanging out with them a lot lately," She says.

"Of course, but they're very busy people," I tell her.

"Well whenever is fine, they must be very special people if they got you to get out of the house," She jokes.

"Very funny mamá, I'm gonna head to my room,"

"Okay, clean it while you're up there, it's a mess,"

I then start to walk down the hallway. WAIT I never asked about the going on the pre tour.

"Hey mamá?!" I say turning around.

"Yes?" She says.

"Do you think... I... could maybe... go... ontourwithmyfriends?" I say jumbling the last part.

"Brynn, sweetie, you know I can't understand when you do that. So try again, and this time slow it down," She requests.

"Do you think, that I, could go, on tour, with my friends?" I say clearly.

"The friends you just met?" She asks curiously.

"Yes?" I respond with it coming out as more of a question.

"Well, I have to talk to papá when he gets home of course, see what he says. I'd have to meet these friends of yours. And will there be any adult supervision?" She concludes.

"I believe so, but when you meet them we can go over everything again," I suggest.

"Sounds perfect mija, now go ahead and arrange for us to meet. I'm going to wait for papá he should be back soon," She instructs.

A/N

Very short chapter I'm so sorry but school's been keeping me busy and I found out that I have to take the PSAT. And I'm in 8th grade like I was not informed of this. I see many of you are losing interest in this book, and like I've said before, feel free to suggest ideas in the comments or dm. I hate it that this story is not pleasing everyone.

-xoxo Corinne
