It had been 6 months since Andy left. She came back. I thought she would've been gone longer. She sounded like she'd take a long time. I picked up the note she left me and remembered what happened.
I walked into her room but she was gone. I began to panic. Had something happened to her? I looked around the room and found a note on the bedside table. I walked towards it and saw my name on it. I opened the letter.
Danni
Words can't describe what's happening right now. I feel like everything is just too much for me to handle. I need some time to myself where I can think things though. I'm going to Europe. I know I didn't say goodbye because I will be back. I don't know when but I will be back.
Please remember what you promised me. I want you to keep your promise. I know we talked about how we felt but I need to think about it. I know you like me and I like you but I can't let you in. It'll hurt you too much.
Please don't be mad. I want you to focus on yourself too. Please study hard and ace your exams. Please look after yourself.
Andy
I looked up from the letter and cried. She left me. She left without saying goodbye. Why would she do this?
I folded the letter and put it back under my pillow.
"The more you read that, the more you won't move on," I looked at Narla and sighed.
"She broke me Narla,"
"I know but if you could leave would you?"
"I don't know,"
"Just know that's she's back now,"
"For how long? How long until she leaves again without a goodbye?"
"I don't know," Narla replied, getting a dress out for tonight. I looked though my clothes and decided to wear a dark blue dress.
"Blue looks nice on you," Narla commented, standing in her underwear. I turned and saw she was wearing a black strapless lace dress, that hugged her chest and torso but puffed out at her thighs.
"You look nice," I smiled, slipping into my dress.
"You think? Do you think Yvette will like it?" I couldn't help but smile. Narla wouldn't admit that she liked Yvette. It was so obvious though. She pretended that she didn't for five months. Eventually Yvette asked her out and she finally said yes.
"Yes she'll like it," I replied, making sure my dress was on. The dress was tight around my chest and torso and was lose around my thighs. It reached mid thigh like Narla's dress.
"Heals to be the same height? Or flats to be shorter?"
"Flats," I replied. I just slipped my blue converse on.
"Hair up or down?" She asked me.
"You look older with your hair up,"
"Hair up it is," she smiled, putting it into a messy bun. I left my hair out and looked at myself in the mirror. I don't usually wear make up but I had eyeliner and mascara on today. It still looked decent from earlier so I kept it on.
"I can't believe we've finally finished exams," Narla beamed, applying her makeup.
"It feels good," I replied. Even though the weight of exams had been lifted off my shoulders, I was still dwelling over everything that happened.
"Okay I'm ready," she breathed.
"Lets go," I smiled.

I didn't usually drink but tonight I couldn't help myself. I needed to forget everything that was on my mind. I was only tipsy, but it still made me feel ontop of the world. I turned to Andy who was leaning on the counter talking to the barmaid. She was wearing black ripped jeans, a white t-shirt and a black jacket. She hadn't really talked to me tonight.
"Come dance with meeeee," Narla whined, grabbing my hands. I laughed and obeyed. We danced together letting the music fill our bodies. Yvette stopped dancing and went over to Andy. Narla and I kept dancing together. There were a lot of people here tonight so the dance floor was quite crowded. Someone came around with drinks so I grabbed another.
"Cheers to finishing exams!" Narla squeaked.
"Cheers!" I laughed, letting the alcohol burn my throat. The memories of Beatrice raping me at the party flashed through my mind. I felt my breath hitch in my throat.
"You okay?" Narla slurred, holding my shoulder.
"Just need some air," I replied, walking away from the dance floor. I made my way outside. I was welcomed by the quiet sound of the town. I stood on the balcony, looking over the town. The lights lit up in the horizon. The air was cold but I was sweating. I tried to steady my breathing but I couldn't.
"Where are we going?" I asked, as he guided me away from the crowd.
"Away from it all!" He yelled leading me up stairs. I followed, watching him stumble. He lead me into the room and locked the door.
"You alright," I looked up and saw Andy next to me. Her hands were in her pockets.
"Yes," I replied, looking out in the distance.
"You having fun?"
"Yeah,"
"Something's bothering you,"
"No it was just hot in there," I replied, remembering how she left me.
"Are you going back in?"
"Yeah in a bit,"
"Want me to stay?"
"I'll be okay," I smiled at her. She nodded her head. She slipped her jacket off and slipped it over my shoulders.
"Incase you get cold," she smiled before walking back inside. I sighed at the familiar scent of pine. I heard the door open again.
"I have drinks!" Narla laughed, stumbling towards me.
"How much?" I asked, wanting to get wasted.
"Three bottles," she hiccuped, handing me one.
"Here goes nothing," I smirked, opening the bottle and drinking it. I needed to forget everything.
"Sorry to interrupt, but I was wondering if I could have a dance with you Narla," we both turned around and saw a grinning Yvette.
"Yes," Narla beamed, handing me the other bottles. I sat them on the balcony and watched them walk in. I looked in the glass door and saw Andy watching me. She was still leaning against the counter, with a lemonade in hand. I turned back to the town and drank my problems away.
