9 Years Later
Andy's P.O.V
I made my way through the house looking for Danni. I hadn't seen her today and it was bumming my mood. She graduated from university yesterday and she left early this morning to sort some things out at the bank or something. It was midday and I couldn't figure out why she wasn't back yet. I opened the back sliding door and looked out over the sandy shore. Danni and I brought a beach house at the start of this year. We moved a couple towns over from our hometown. We wanted a new start. We wanted to have a new beginning.
"Danni!" I called. I turned back inside and heard Joseph running into the dining area. He was still the lazy dog that he was when he was little. Believe it or not I grew very fond of him. While Danni spent most of her days and nights studying her doctorate, it was just me and Joseph. I took him for walks and played with him and even sometimes cuddled him. Danni was right. I would grow to love him. He was getting older now and less energetic. I ran my fingers through his newly washed fur.
"Where's Danni Joseph?" I asked. He barked, wagging his tail and walking into the kitchen. I followed him and found a yellow post it note on the counter. I picked it up and examined her hand writing.
1. Go into our closet
I furrowed my eyebrows and headed towards our room. Why didn't I see that note earlier? Was she planning like a treasure hunt or something? I climbed the stairs, and walked around our room. I made it to the closet. On the glass door was another bite.
2. Open up and pick out a nice outfit
I opened the closet and found a nice tuxedo. I had the tuxedo from when we traveled Europe. I took her to famous restaurants and dinners, and even local cafes and fast food outlets. I put the suit on and found a post it note in the pocket.
3. Grab the car keys
I neatened up my dress shirt and dress pants. I slipped some dress shoes on before heading to the keys.
4. Go to the car and please bring Joseph
"Come on boy," I called. Opening the door. He barked and ran towards the car. I grabbed the lead and locked the house on my way out. I made my way to the car and opened the door for Jasper. He jumped in and I got in after him. On the steering wheel was another note.
5. Drive to the place I love the most
The dock. When Danni and I first brought the house we went exploring around the town. There was this dock that overlooked a beautiful lake. We sat on the dock with a picnic under the stars on the first night. We talked all night about our trip through Europe and America and our future together. I pulled up to the familiar park and got out. I looked at the brown tree and saw another post it note.
6. Follow the path, you know where to go
"Come on Jasper," I called. We both walked down the path together. My stomach rumbles. I should've eaten before this treasure hunt. We were getting closer to the dock. I found another stick it note on a log.
7. Have a seat baby
I looked at the dock ad noticed the familiar picnic was set up from the night we were here. I smiled and sat down. She had some juice because she knows I don't drink, sandwiched and lost of food. I looked at the glass and found another note.
8. Turn around baby
I turned my head and my mouth dropped open. Danni walked down the dock, her hair was tied up into a messy bun. Her makeup made her look absolutely flawless. She was wearing a beautiful long red dress which hugged her figure in all the right places. I couldn't keep my eyes off of her.
"Hello beautiful," she smiled, sitting down next to me.
"You're breathtaking," I breathed taking in all of her.
"As are you," she smiled, sitting so she was facing me.
"You couldn't just tell me you were here?" I joked, feeling Jasper curl up near our legs.
"Nope," she smiled, letting her hands fall into mine.
"What's going on?"
"Let me tell you," she smiled. God she was beautiful.
"We've been together for nearly ten years Andy. I have graduated university as a doctor and you have become the owner of Yvette's dad's company and many other manufacturing companies in the world. We have brought a beach house with our beautiful Jasper,"
"We are expecting a baby girl," she smiled, one of her hands falling into her stomach.
"We travelled across Europe and America and made sure we hit every spot. You showed me so many amazing and wonderful things. I got to taste all the pasta from Italy, dance to all the music in Spain, go to all the fancy restaurants in France and so many more," I squeezed her hand, feeling tears well in my eyes.
"For the ten or so years we've been together I've been holding onto the promise ring you have me on our graduation day. On that day you promised me so many things and I want to promise them to you,"
Danni's P.O.V
My heart was beating a million miles an hour in my chest.
"Andrea Howard, I promise to love you until death do us part. I promise to show you everything that I see is beautiful about you. I promise to be the best wife and best friend to you. I promise to explore the world with you. I promise to love you and every part of you. I promise to have you for the rest of my life," I felt the tears well in my eyes looking at Andy cry.
"Andy you are so beautiful. You make me the luckiest girl in the world and there isn't anyone I could possibly love more than you. It was like we were destined to be from that very first day we met at your mums house. Ever since that day I've wanted to be with you. You make me safe, secure and feel wanted and loved every day. And I want to do the same to you," I pulled out the little box from the basket and held it out to her.
"Andrea Howard, will you marry me?" I asked, my hands shaking. Her eyes went from the box to my eyes.
"Yes love," she laughed, tears falling from her eyes. I grabbed her finger and slipped the ring on.
"I love you so fucking much," she cried.
"I love you too," I cried. Our lips met again and it felt like my whole body was on fire. I finally felt complete. I was going to marry the girl of my dreams, welcome a beautiful baby girl and get to spend the rest of my life with the one and only Andy Howard. My life couldn't be more perfect.
