I threw the ball up in the air before swinging the bat and smashing it down the field. I grabbed another ball and threw it as hard and far as I could.
"You sure you play football?" I turned around and saw a girl wearing softball gear.
"I play many sports," I replied, throwing the ball up and hitting it again.
"Softball one of them?"
"Played while travelling for four years,"
"Ever considered joining the local team?"
"Not particularly," I replied, swinging and hitting another ball.
"Pitty because we really need more girls,"
"Well I hope you find them," I smiled.
"What can I do to get you to tryout?" I turned around and faced her. I took in her straightened red hair and freckles. She had brown eyes and was around the same height as me.
"Nothing because my shoulders busted,"
"Use your right hand,"
"Still need the other to hold the mit," I replied.
"Not with an arm like that. You'd easily strike a girl out,"
"Well thanks but I'm done with sports for a while,"
"Alright, but if I told you Danni joined softball would you reconsider?" I looked at her questionably.
"Danni? As in geeky, short and not a sports fan Danni?"
"Yes, she joined six moths ago and she's one of the best on the team,"
"Danni hates sports,"
"Well something changed I guess," she shrugged.
"When's the next game?"
"This Sunday at three,"
"Here?"
"Here,"
"I won't play but I'll come check you guys out,"
"Alright," I waved her off before walking towards my balls to collect them. Danni? She must have her confused. I knew that Danni had been exercising. She looked fitter but softball? She didn't like sports.

I walked up to the cafe and strolled in.
"If it isn't our number one customer," Yvette laughed, leaning on the counter.
"Where's your workers?"
"Narla's delivering coffee as we speak and Danni I have no clue,"
"Well I was here to clarify something with her,"
"Maybe I can help. The usual?"
"Yes," I replied to both.
"What's up then?"
"Did Danni join the softball team?"
"Oh yes Narla was as surprised as you were. She told me that Danni hadn't taken notice in sports a day in her life!"
"Why'd she join?"
"Beats me but I'm pretty sure it was so she could let go? I mean the first month for her was horrible. Then she started exercising and playing and she got better,"
"Right," I replied grabbing the coffee from her.
"Hey Andy,"
"Hey, have you seen Danni?"
