You wake up as a sharp knock comes at your door and throw off your covers. You open your door and slip out before standing next to Will. He gives a small smile before the two of you begin your journey. About halfway there you're guessing it begins pouring down rain, but the two of you could care less. After more walking you finally stop somewhere and Will knocks on the door. After a minute or so someone opens the door and you realise it's a vampire's subjugate. You stand there confused as to who you will be speaking to.

"Tell Magnus Bane I need to speak with him."

"Very well. Follow me."

The subjugate leads you to a room where a fire is burning in the grate. You kneel in front of the fire as Will stands off to the side. Once again leaning against the mantle causing you to give a small smile. You hear the door creek causing you to turn to it. A small smile is still on your face when you lock eyes with Magnus. You lift your hand in a semblance of a wave.

"William," Magnus says, honestly surprised. "What on earth are you doing here? Has something happened at the Institute?"

"No." Will sounds as if he is chocking. "I'm here on my own account. I need your help. There is—there is absolutely no one else that I can ask."

You reach up to squeeze his hand before staring into the fire. You zone out as Will vaguely tells Magnus his story and you know why he's hiding parts. Everything falls silent and you turn to see Magnus trying to usher Will out of the room. You stand up and begin to follow when Magnus holds onto your wrist. Confused you stop and stare at Magnus.

"What do you need Magnus?"

"To speak with you. Come sit. William will wait outside."

You turn to go back to where you were earlier causing him to give a low chuckle. You stare into the fire waiting for Magnus to speak.

"You're different than I last saw you. You still have that fire, but it's been dulled. What happened?"

"It's nothing Magnus. Why do you even care what happens to me?"

"I care because I saw something in you. I saw a girl who would fight to survive."

"I am fighting to survive! I feel as if I'm drowning every second I'm awake. I feel as if I'm drowning in pain because I lost someone I love! I'm fighting to get past this because people need me! It's only been a day since I lost him and it seems like I can't breathe!" You finish as you breathe heavily with your fists clenched.

"There you are. I can see that girl who knows how to fight to survive."

"I don't know who I am anymore Mags. I feel so lost. Almost like I'm lost at sea all alone."

"You aren't alone though. You have everyone at the Institute and if you want to talk you have me."

"That's the thing Mags. Only you and Will are the only two people who know how much I'm broken. Jem probably realises, but he is too nice to ask me in case it upsets me. Charlotte is the same as well. Sophie knows I'm hurting, but that is all. Henry is a bit oblivious which I'm thankful for. Tessa did not even notice me ever since we came here. We need to go now if we are not back by dawn it could raise questions."

"I'm serious about what I said."

"I know. One of my powers is to feel emotions, but we really must leave."

You slip out of the room leaving Magnus and grabbing Will's wrist. After a bit of walking you both finally make it back to the Institute. Once there you go to your room and change before going to sleep once more.
