You wake up feeling like something is wrong and you automatically put on your gear. You pull your hair up before entering the hall to see Tessa coming out of her room. You grab her wrist causing her to jump startled.

"Tessa what's wrong?"

"Sophie told me that Nate has gone missing and nobody knows where he is."

"Oh lord are you serious? I can't sleep for very long before something happens. Come on we have to find him."

You both walk down the hallways, but Tessa is slightly faster than you are. You give a yawn as she stops and you smile seeing Thomas. He gives you a smile before giving Tessa a nervous look. Concerned you step forward to stand next to her.

"I've found your brother," he says, causing you to slump in relief.

"You have? But where is he?"

"In the drawing room. Got himself a bit of a hiding place, behind the curtains, he had," He says speaking hastily, looking sheepish. "Minute he saw me, he went right off his chump. Started screamin' and yellin'. Tried to bolt past me, an' I nearly had to give him one over the gash to keep him quiet-" You nod understanding as Thomas pauses and clears his throat. "That is to say, I'm afraid I may have frightened him, miss."

You barely hear Tessa's response as you give Thomas' hand a squeeze. Tessa enters and closes the door before you enter. You purse your lips before shrugging. You don't feel the need to enter, but something pushes you to enter the room. You kiss Thomas' cheek before entering and your eyes immediately go to the open window. Concerned you look to Nate, but he won't look to you. You sigh as Tessa closes the window before sitting in front of Nate. You stay near the door watching the two of them as that bad feeling comes from Nate once more. You carefully watch the two of them as the door slightly opens behind you causing you to turn to it.

"Miss Gray." It is Thomas, looking apologetic. "Miss Gray, Master Will is-"

"Master Will is right here."

You shake your head as he gets past Thomas and comes into the room. He gives a cheeky smile at your exasperated look before looking behind you. You realise his eyes have landed on Nate as you notice he is in his clothes from last night. He must not have left Jem's side causing you to give a soft smile before walking over to Thomas.

"It's quite alright Thomas. We know how Will is when he wants to do something. Nothing can really stop him when he sets his mind to something."

"That is quite true (Y/N). I need to tell Mrs. Branwell that Nate has been found."

"Go ahead. I'll still be here when you get back."

You watch him leave the room before turning around to face them. You see Tessa looking at you with wide eyes causing you to smirk. Will looks your way with worried eyes before flicking them back to Nate.

"So you're a Shadowhunter," Nate says. "De Quincey told me that you lot were monsters."

"Was that before or after he tried to eat you?" Will inquires.

Tessa rises quickly to her feet. "Will. Might I speak to you in the corridor for a moment, please?"

The two of them leave which leaves you alone with your brother. You move over to the fire as you get a sudden chill. You hear Nate shift behind you and turn to look at him. You notice the dark circle under his eyes as he looks to you. His eyes are wide and doe-like when they look at you reminding you that you are in your gear. Before you can say anything Charlotte, Henry, Jessamine, and Will come back in. Jessamine gives a blanket to Nate that he puts in his lap before asking about Tessa. You feel slightly hurt that he hasn't once talked to you. Tessa sits before him as you turn to the fire listening to Nate speak.

"Our aunt Harriet always kept mother's old jewelry box on the nightstand by her bed. She said she kept sewing notions in it, but I-" Nate takes a deep breath, looking at Tessa as he speaks. "I was in debt. I'd made a few rash bets, had lost some money and I was in a bad way. I didn't want you, (Y/N), or Aunt to know. I remembered there was a gold bracelet Mother used to wear when she was alive. I got it into my head that it was still in the that jewelry box and that Aunt Harriet was just too stubborn to sell it. You know how she is-how she was. Anyway, I couldn't let the idea go. I knew that if I could pawn the bracelet, I could get the money to pay off my debts. So one day when you and Aunt were out, I got hold of the box and searched it."

You're thrown into your memories as you remember that day. Aunt Harriet and Tessa were out, but you were in your room. You heard Nate rummaging around in Aunt Harriet's room, but didn't know why. Of course, being curious you snuck up behind him and watched him open the false bottom. You saw that he took out a bundle, but upon hearing footsteps you ran back to your room. You saw Nate stuff the papers in his pants before you left. Only you never once thought about them after that day.

You tune back in after remembering the memory and see you have missed most of the conversation. You heave an inaudible sigh before paying attention once more.

Nate looks from Charlotte's anxious face to Tessa's, and all around the room, but not at you. "I-I thought you knew. He said the binding charm could only be generated at the full moon. When that happens, the Dark Sisters will get to work, and then-he's got dozens of the things stored in his hideaway, and I know he plans to make many more-hundreds, thousands, perhaps. I suppose he'll animate them, and..."

"The full moon?" Charlotte, glancing towards the window, bites her lip. "That will be very soon-tomorrow night, I think."

Jem straightens up like a shot. "I can check the lunar tables in the library. I'll be back." He vanishes through the door.

Half a second later you follow him and catch up to him. He gives you a shocked look causing you to smile. You couldn't take another minute in that drawing room in the suffocating air. Once at the library you both look through the tables until you find the full moon. You grab Jem's wrist with a sharp intake of breath and he looks to you. You point a shaking finger to the date and his eyes widen. The both of you take off down the hall with the information. You feel sick to your stomach as the both of you burst into the room.

"It's not tomorrow," Jem says. "The full moon. It's tonight."

A flurry of activity happens as the nausea you feel grows worse. You feel as if something horrible is going to happen, but you can't say what it is. You sit in an armchair as you try to stay calm looking at the fire burning. No one looks your way causing you to feel a little hurt. Suddenly you're thrown into a vision.

The area is completely dark and you can't tell where you are. Suddenly light flares into the room and you scream in fright. You see yourself in an unknown place lying dead.
