Chapter 2:
As soon as the school came into sight, I made it my mission to speed to the closest parking spot there was. This was a request from Ally; she didn't want to have to walk too far to get to the nearest "hiding spot", as she had stated on the way here.
I had reached what I thought to be an open parking spot, when I soon noticed that it was taken by a motorcycle, (one of the most annoying things ever, am I right?). Within the parking spot occupied thee 'couple of the school' making out right on top of the hot rode for every innocent bystander to witness. Gag me.
"Well well well, speak of the devil," spit Ally.
"Just ignore her," I huffed, as I swerved around to find a different parking spot that could hopefully please Ally. "She can't see you anyway; she is literally sucking on Jason's face at the moment," I cringed.
Ally squinted in disgust. "They're like - meant to be. It's almost creepy."
"If by 'creepy' you mean how odd it is that they both find it appropriate to be doing that in public then yes, they do deserve one another because I can't imagine we'd find anyone else into that other than themselves," I laughed, as Ally soon joined in.
We soon found a spot that Ally described as, "good enough", and started to walk towards the place we'll be at for the next 8 hours of our day.
Ally hiked up her leg warmers and glanced over at me. "Well, I'm heading to the opposite direction of you to the wonderful class of Español," she sighed. "Ugh, ¿ya terminó el último año?"
I laughed but quickly remembered what my first period class involved. "Well I'm gonna have to spend the first hour of the day trying to wrap my head around the concept of Mathematics, so you don't have it that bad." I grouch.
"Ouch, you're right. Well, ¡nos vemos en el almuerzo!" Ally yelled as she ran to catch up to her friend Tom. Which by the way, is a super cute guy that she has gotten to know quite well. I wonder if they have a thing going on? I'm sure she would've mentioned something if that was the case though.
My classes seem to fly by pretty fast and before I know it, it's already fourth period. My favorite class of all falls within this time frame - Photography.
I've been interested in cameras ever since I can remember. Some people may say they have a specific area of specialty they like to focus on when it comes to this hobby but for me, I would always go outside and take pictures of anything under the sun. While I grew up and continually found myself enjoying this past-time activity, I began to think that taking pictures might be the future for me. Ever since I had this realization, I became very serious and started studying cameras and techniques ever since the 7th grade. With high school almost over, I was positive on what I was planning to do for the rest of my life.
When I reached my class, I went and sat in my seat only to await that we had a substitute today. Great, study hall. I guess I could use this time to work on the homework I received today. (Work on the first day back, who does this?) Or... I could perhaps just skip over this period? Lunch is next after-all.
Having no time for second thoughts, I quickly graced past the door out into the hallway as soon as the teacher wasn't looking and made my way to my locker right as the bell rang. Seeing that the teacher wasn't chasing after me screeching my name; I had been comforted in knowing that I made it out un-noticed.
Sighing in relief, I turned back around find the biggest ass in the world ran right into me.
Jason was speed walking in the hallway like he had probably been late for class - like usual. I won't be here to judge that though, considering I just skipped a class period, myself.
"Oh sorry, I didn't see you there!" Jason exclaimed. I looked up to catch a glimpse of his dark green eyes. It doesn't surprise me that many girls in the school find themselves daydreaming about this boy right in the middle of class or secretly chanting his name in the school's cheering section, but I knew that he was one of the guys who knew he had much attention around here and no guy with that amount of confidence and self-awareness can be that cool of a dude. Not to mention, he totally missed out on a chance with the coolest girl in the school - Ally.
"Yeah, whatever. Just next time, watch where you're going," I sassed as I began to walk past him.
I could hear a scruff of a laugh and then a deep voice making it's way back to me. "Hey, aren't you going to apologize to me?" he blurted.
I turn around with my mouth wide open. Did he just ask me to apologize? This kind of behavior towards his presence must be new for him.
"Apologize? To you? For what, exactly?"
"Well as obvious as I think it may be - for running into me. We kind of, ya know, collided." He chuckled, as he presented with his hands the impact that had just happened moments ago.
"Ha- yeah I don't think I have to do that. I mean I was literally on one side of the hallway so it's not like I was blocking a common area for you." I explained, maybe a little too bitterly. "You ran into me. Now if you excuse me, I really have to go; I'm wasting my free period." I stated, as I turned away.
"Wait, can I at least know your name?" He smirked, showing his off those infamously defined dimples that many girls squeal about in the hallways.
Damn, I hate to admit it but his smile actually was worth a stare. With his dark brown hair and evergreen eyes, he was like an innocent puppy wanting not just anyone's attention, but mine. He was beautiful, no - gorgeous. But I wasn't gonna let someone like him get to me. As far as I'm concerned, he's a cocky jerk. Having that kind of title insinuates that there is no way I'm ever getting caught in his tricky web.
"You think your reward for running into me would to receive my number? You're gonna have to be more of a gentleman than that."
Jason's eyes widened a bit, as if he was surprised in my bold statement. His expression soon turned into satisfaction as he smiled and said, "I guess so".
I turned and tried to walk away as cool as possible but wow was I taking a toll from standing my ground to someone like him - my composure was on fire!
Also wait, did Jason seriously just flirt with me?
and did I seriously just play hard to get with him?
and he accepted my challenge.
You can imagine I felt pretty damn confident when I was walking out of that hallway.
