Chapter 24:
I wake up with crap all around my eyes.
I see Ally already sitting up and getting the stuff out of her eyes as well.
"The sand man came Jade." She growls as she starts to run her eyes over and over again. Her eyes are going to be so red if she keeps doing that.
"Ally stop rubbing your eyes! I point, you're gonna make them red and puffy."
She stops rubbing and glares at me with her squinty morning eyes.
"As soon as your eyes open for the day you'll see how thankful I was." I grin, and walk out of the room to head down for some breakfast.
I hear Ally yell from the other room,
"If you're going to look for some cereal we don't have anymore!"
Dang it. I wanted Fruit Loops.
I turn my body around and face towards her room from down the stairs.
"Well than what am I supposed to eat??" I complain.
We aren't the nicest people in the morning but today I'm better than usual.
She's not.
She pokes her head from the side of the corner in the hallway, which makes me laugh. Her eyes are still squinted and she's glaring at me while she's stomping her little feet down the stairs.
She walks past me without making eye contact and goes to the fridge.
She grabs a pizza from the freezer and places it on the counter.
"There, she points, breakfast pizza."
My stomach growls from just looking at it.
"You can cook it." I smile, and head into the living room.
I look back at her since I haven't heard a word come from her mouth. But once my eyes meet hers I can tell what she's thinking.
"Sheesh." I shiver and move myself down farther into the couch.
I hear Ally start the oven and places them in. It must take about 20 minutes or so to cook.
I grab the remote and turn the TV on, but then Ally comes behind me, yanks the remote from my hands and turns the TV off.
"What was that for?" I ask, swinging my head towards her.
"I said we were going to talk in the morning so were gonna talk." She sits down right in front of me and keeps her eyes focused on me.
"Okay, what is it?"
"What are you going to do about your father?" She stares, her voice serious and concentrated.
The room was silent you could hear a pin drop.
"Umm.. I start, I don't really know for sure I guess I could.." I kept thinking, but I honestly don't know what I can do, what will I do?
She grabs my arms and pulls me closer to her, I think she's trying to make sure I'm paying attention to her. Oh no, serious mode.
"Ally it's to early in the morning to be serious." I laugh, while pulling my arms away from her, but she keeps her grip.
"Jade, me and Jason are going to make sure this stops."
My first reaction was to repeat the sentence that just left her mouth.
"What?!" I yell, I quickly get up and move away from her, towards the door.
"You can't do that! My father said no one can know! You know what you could do to me??" I feel light headed by just the thought. I need to go home and see if he's still there. Does my father already know about me telling?
"Jade! She moves closer to me but I move away, keeping my distance from her. "Jade stop this is serious we have to make you safe, this isn't right!"
"You need to stay OUT of this Ally!" I yell, "You don't understand what can happen to me, if you do this he would never forgive me, he would punish me horribly! You'll fail at whatever you're trying to do cause it won't work!" I start blurting out words to Ally. This won't work. My dad is way to clever to have anybody figure out about this, he may be an alcoholic but he knows what he's doing, and he will get revenge if something ever does happen.
"Jade please calm down, we can help!" She assures me. But I don't believe her, Father can't be stopped.
"No.. stop, just stop bringing this up, just stop all of this, I wish I would've never told you!" My face gets white, what if she already did something?
"Jade you don't mean that.." She frowns.
"Have you done something already? Whatever you do don't do anything! Just stop!" I speed walk towards the door, graving the knob, Ally follows me.
"No I haven't done anything.. I promise."
"What about Jason?" I ask.
"Well... He-"
"What did he do ALLY?!"
She looks at me, frightened about my tone, but this is serious, I have to know, and I have to know now.
"He... He's um." She stutters.
"He's WHAT?"
"He's heading to your fathers house right now.."
My hand drops from the knob.
"Are you okay Jade?" I don't look up to Ally, but I question her.
"What is he planning to do there?" I ask, keeping my eyes focused on the ground.
"He's going to talk to your father..."
"and?-"
"And... Confront him about your bruises."
My eyes move up to Ally, She has little confidence in this plan I can see it in her eyes.
"What have you done?" I ask. Opening the doorknob and rushing to my car as fast as I can, I feel my phone vibrate in my pockets.
I grab my phone and look at the screen.
It's my Father.
