He looks so worn down,
so...
empty.
Am I not good enough for him? Was my Mother the only thing to ever keep him happy?
I move my feet towards his bed, his usual stench lurkes through my nose, I dont see why people think liquor is so good, it smells horrifying. But liquor wasn't his only treat, he had all source of delights like beer, wine, and when he got bored he would often mix them together to see what he would get.
He had a nasty beer belly but what got the ladys was his charm, I saw some of him in myself. But never future wise.
I slid the blankets off his body which revealed his pants he never changed out of from yesterday, and a wet spot on the bed. Great, he whizzed on his own bed. Alcohol is bad for your body I don't know how my dad can take this.
I threw the blankets off entirely and my father let out a growel.
I decided to speak up,
"father."
nothing.
I glared and spoke loud and confident,
"Father."
I saw him turn his body and look up at the celing, yet he never spoke a word.
'Father, I looked down at him, I want you to get cleaned up now and help clean up everything you have done from last night."
My fathers face twitched, his face looked cold and mean. I felt.. frightened.
I moved to the bathroom door and opened it wide, starting the shower I saw my father get up and move towards the mirror.
"Father I started the shower for you so-"
My father walked past me and shut the door stopping me in mid-sentence.
Well that went better than I thought.
While fixing up his bed, I grabbed the blanket and headed over to the laundry room and placed it in the wash. I felt the breeze rush on my neck from the open window. I feel like this action is going to help, it feels right, but I have a long ways to go. I passed my fathers room and heard the shower still running. Hopefully he doesn't puke in the shower...
Picking up the rag and spray I noticed my phone. I didn't care anymore I'm picking it up.
- Okay Camera girl, you can tell me all about it tomorrow then ;)
Always winky faces, I can imagine his smirk right now just by reading his messages, he was so attractive, but I could never see us together. It would be nice to be loved though, I've been searching for it long enough.
I looked at the clock,
5:39 pm
We should probably eat soon, maybe I could make some food for me and my dad. Then we can take like real family. I started the oven and set it for 360 degrees. Ill make some breadsticks and then cook some noodles, it sounded perfect already!
Once the breadsticks were done I poured the noodles onto 2 plates and placed 4 breadsticks in the center of the table for the taking.
I was wondering what was taking him so long? I checked the clock.
6:01 pm
Just in time to eat! Maybe he's just drying off.
I walked up the stairs and saw my father.
He was dressed up in a tux, freshly shaved face, and a glowing smile on his face while checking his tie. "Ummm dad you look awesome! I smiled. When I said, get cleaned up, I didn't mean this though"
My father chuckled. I've haven't heard his laugh in so long. It made me feel warm and safe.
He turned to me and grinned,
'I'm going on a date with a woman named Susan, she'll be here any minute now." He glanced down at his watch and walked right past me.
'Well I made dinner for you and me already tonight dad, can't you cancel?" I mumbled.
He stopped when he reached the table and turned to face me, his eyes focus,
"Cancel? he emphasizes, You want me to cancel my date with Susan? Do you have no manners Jade??" He exclaimed, waiting for an answer.
"No manners? I raised my eyebrow. I set up this WHOLE dinner for you and me to eat together, I got you up and ready for the 'date' I didn't even know about! Why do you not tell me these things?? I-'
He holds out his hand in my direction.
"Jade silence for once!" He yells.
I stood there, shocked. I can't beieve the words he just spit out of his mouth.
"Silence for once? I repeat. All I have ever been to you was a shadow! A maid! Cleaning up after your slutty dates and all your meals and cleaning the house and mostly cleaning after YOU!" I point.
He stands there emotionless from my words. Until he creeps towards me and towers over me.
"I never asked for this dinner, I never asked for you to clean up after me, and I certainly never asked you to take care of me." His voice sounded cold and demanding.
A tear rolled down my cheek from his harsh words.
"So what are you saying you don't need me?" I asked.
He stared directly into my eyes, showing no emotion, no answer.
The doorbell rang and my father went towards the door to answer it.
"Hello Rogar." Susan spoke, her voice sounded needy. She wore a dark red dress that cut off from her ankles and a dangerous look in her eyes.
"Hello Susan. Are you ready to go?" He smirked.
"As long as we don't have a bedtime." She grinned.
Ew.
I peer behind my father and make myself noticable to Susan.
"My father is staying with me tonight to eat dinner, If you even knew he had a daughter, anyway, I think you can be on your way now." I sassed as I turned to move away from the door.
My father grabbed my arm and yanked me back and kept his grip, hard.
"Susan if you can just wait in the car, Ill be right with you." He smiled. Fake as ever.
Susan glanced at me, she looked confused, then she turned off her curiousity and headed out the door. My father shut the door and before I could open my mouth to speak he yanked his arm up and smacked me right across my face, as I fell flat on the ground.
"DO YOU THINK YOU HAVE PERMISSION TO TALK TO MY DATES THAT WAY?!" He screamed.
I stayed still, bewildered by what just happened.
"WHAT NOW YOU CAN'T SPEAK ANYMORE? He had a crazy look in his eye, I was afraid.
"you h-hit me" I whispered.
"Oh I hit you... Yes, I did. He spoke. What did i leave a bruise? Well I guess you could imagine what will happen next time if you ever tick me off again." He groweled.
He open the front door and stepped out before I could even blink.
I heard the car drive out of the driveway.
My dad,
My own father.. just hit me.
And he'll do it again.
