HUGE update. Almost 6 pages long. Starts following along with  second movie, with some embellishments. Enjoy!

So it's been months since the battle with Ronan and we've had several oddball jobs here and there. The payout was decent and there really wasn't much of a challenge. That is, until we got a call from The Sovereign. Apparently, there's something called an Abilisk that's been trying to gobble up their precious Anulax batteries. But here's the kicker. As part of our payment, we'd also be retrieving Nebula, who has a decent bounty on her head courtesy of Xandar.

"So what the hell is an Abilisk? I don't believe I've ever seen one." I asked.

"It's the most hideous thing you'll probably ever see." Quill stated as he pulled up an image on a screen.

"Yup...I think I've seen everything now." I headed over to where Rocket was upgrading some of his weapons and constructing some new ones. "Need help?" Rocket didn't even look up. "Nah, I'm almost finished. We'll be at the Sovereign planet in a little while."

I shrugged. "Okay," I saw Drax sharpen his blades and Gamora assessing her sword and some guns. I guess I should consider using something other than martial arts, I thought and I looked at our arsenal. I hefted a gun which was heavy but nothing I couldn't handle. I also happened to come across a bow and arrows. I slung the bow over my shoulder and brought the arrows to the table. There wasn't anything fancy about them so I decided to tinker with them by adding some tech. Rocket had started teaching me some basic things and I caught on pretty quickly. I even started devising my own weapons here and there but hadn't begun building them. They were just plans.

I had gone to my room and returned with a box of various parts and pieces. "I can make electric arrows and a few that explode. That should be good for this monster.." I trailed off as I began to work some of the scraps.

"Hey, doll. Whatcha workin' on?" Rocket came up behind me and buried his face in my hair, his nose tickling the nape of my neck.

"Just incorporating some tech with these arrows." I my fingers manipulated a few more wires and then I took apart the arrow a bit and installed the new device to it. Holding it up to inspect it, I was sort of impressed with myself. I started working on the pieces for the electric one when Rocket piped up.

"Do ya know how to use that thing? I picked it up a while ago but nobody knows what to do with it. Everybody's all about guns. And explosives."

I nodded my head. "Yeah, I know how to use it. Just need to upgrade the arrows to make them more effective. Eventually I'll have to craft some more though."

"Well I'm glad somebody can put it to good use." I smiled at my companion as I finished up the last arrow. Rocket picked one up to critique it. "Not bad. We actually might could make some improvements but good idea, (Y/N)." I beamed at the compliment.

"Hey, guys?" Quill came pounding down the stairs. "We're almost at the Sovereign. I need everyone on their best behavior when interacting with these people. Capiche?"

"No guarantees, Quill."

About twenty minutes later we were all setting up and preparing for our battle. We were all wearing aero rigs except for Drax, who stood there in all his shirtless glory.

"Drax. Why aren't you wearing one of Rocket's aero rigs?" Gamora gestured to hers.

Drax rolled his eyes then turned away. "It hurts."

"It hurts?" Gamora's voice was full of incredulity.

Drax turned away even further. "I have sensitive nipples."
