Chapter sixteen

"It was her allergy as I expected,may prawn ba siyang nakain kagabi or any seafoods?" She can't remember.

"She must have,kakausapin ko siya mamaya kapag nagising na"

"Please do,,ah.."

His presence is not something you can just ignore. The doctor is talking to me but he got distracted because of the man behind me.

So,he was still here?

After she left after that talked,if that can be called talk. She was about to go straight to her daughter's room. But the doctor stop her,she know him,he knows her,too. It was the same doctor who was in charge with Iyonna a week ago.

"He's the father" she answer the wonder in the doctor's face. She doesn't care about what he will think of her. He nodded back in recognition of the information she filled in.

And she did not hear complain from Thaddeus.

She noticed the doctor seems to have been absorbed of his presence. She is no longer surprised,this is really the effect he has on people around him.

"As usual,but not lighter than her first allergy attack,her symptoms has been delayed but this time it was longer,pasalamat na lang tayo na hindi ito malala,I will recommend that she stay here for another day to make sure na ligtas na talaga ang inyong anak"

"Thank you,doc"

"Walang anuman,I'll check on her later"

She turn to face Thaddeus after she talked to the doctor.

"Look,You've said what you have to say,I did what I should have told you years ago,if you want to leave now,be my guest,I won't stop you and I am not and will never ask any support from you,I raised my children on my own,I am not obliging you to be a father to my children,you are free to leave,,I've said my piece"

She was about to make her way to her daughter's room,when he grabbed her right arm.

"You don't turn your back on me after your big revelation"

The fire inside her lit up.

"Then what do you expect me to do,beg?" She laughed mockingly at her last word before she turn cold "I am self sufficient,Mr.Xenakis,my children are not spoil and I prefer them the way they are and I am not expecting you to get involved with my children"

"It's not that,,,you can't just expect me to believe that,,,we,,I ,mean we were safe,I always make sure of that"  she just noticed how he have become pale.

There's a trace of uncertainty in his eyes.

"Well,unfortunately,you've got me pregnant,how the hell do you think will happened after countless of times we shared in bed? You can't always expect it would be a hundred percent safe!  You bloody idiot! If you can't take a responsibility of being a father,,go!  I don't need you here,,.my children have live for four years without you in their lives,,I'm sure they will live another more years without you in the picture,,,I just have to tell you because the situation asked for it,,"

"My children?" He almost whisper.

She left him in confusion.
