"Hiccup!!" Stoick and Valka shouted from downstairs, Hiccup just groaned and rolled over in his bed. The first day of anything is always so boring! It's even worse when it's school.
"Coming!" Hiccup managed to shout to his parents. He rolled out of bed and got dressed.
As he made his way to the kitchen, he saw that Valka was happily making breakfast for Hiccup whilst Stoick was eating his. As Hiccup came through the door Valka laid out his and her breakfasts. Good timing. Hiccup smiled thankfully towards his mother as he pulled out his chair and sat down at the table.
"Thanks, mum,"
"Your welcome sweetheart," Valka replied with a smile.
Hiccup looked at his dad, but as usual, he got no response. Instead, it was just a slight nod to acknowledge his existence. Why did he have to be so distant with him? What did he do?
Oh, wait!
He was the reason they moved, all because of one slight misunderstanding causing him to get kicked out of school and relocate to somewhere quiet. Where no one has heard of them. Maybe then they'd get the family life they deserve. At least they would try to.

Astrid woke up that morning with a start. She still hasn't finished her homework! What was she gonna do? She's gonna fail that class if it's not done, or even worse get detention!
"Oh, crap..." Astrid sighed. "Screw it, it'll be fine." She'll just have to wing it. That's what she always does. She got up and got ready for school.
"Astrid!" Astrid's mum shouted from downstairs. Astrid's Dad wasn't around anymore as he'd left his mum and her when Astrid was five. But Astrid could remember everything about that man. She hated his guts. He wasn't exactly the 'world's best dad' and didn't exactly act like a parent to her when she was younger. He always smelt of alcohol, his clothes were ragged and dirty and often never washed. He used to hit Astrid's mother whenever he was angry but he never hit Astrid. He always had mercy over her. But the one thing that was worst about him was his ability to never tell the truth. He always lied, to Astrid, her mother, practically anyone. And Astrid hated that! She hates liars! She's almost glad he's gone, but she just wished her mum hadn't moved on so well from him...
"Coming!" Astrid replies as she rushed downstairs to meet her mum. Astrid burst into the kitchen and saw Spitelout, the mayor of Berk. Ugh, and her mum's boyfriend. Astrid sighed as she remembered her deal with her mum about him;
"Him?! Mum are you serious?! He's the evilest man in this village. I don't even think he actually counts as a man, more like a snake!" Astrid yelled as Astrid's mum told first told her about her relationship with Spitelout. When Astrid first found out about them, she refused to call him 'Dad' or 'Spitelout' just... 'Him'!
"That 'snake', " Astrid's mum argued at her making inverted commas with her fingers sarcastically. "Is my boyfriend! If you have a problem with him then you can leave and join your father!" Astrid gasped as her mum mentioned his name. As soon as the words left her mouth, Astrid's mum soon regretted them. "Oh, honey... I'm-I'm so s—"
"Do you love him?" Astrid asked calmly. Her mum stepped back and sighed. She smiled as she thought of Spitelout.
"Yes, I do..." She replied with a smile. Astrid rolled her eyes and held out her hand.
"Then I will try and find a way to be okay with that..." Astrid agreed and shook hands with her mother.
She hated Spitelout but loved her mother more. She didn't want to end up like her dad, even the name of that man sent Astrid's mind into a frenzied rage. But even he might have been better than Spitelout but she immediately dismissed the thought, no one could be worse than that man.
"Hello, Spitelout." Astrid hissed through gritted teeth. "I didn't know you were going to be here." She turned to her mum with a fake smile to hide her irritation, but her mother just smiled childishly and turned back to her cooking.
"Oh, I couldn't stay away from dear Freya here..." Spitelout explained. Astrid felt her fists ball up and start to sting as she hesitantly sat down next to Him.
Yep, we're back to 'Him' already.
Astrid watched as He sat innocently at the kitchen table eating the lovely breakfast her mother had made for Him. It wasn't fair, why did her mum have to like this guy?! Why?! Astrid's mum set down a plate of breakfast for Astrid and smiled widely at her, a coded message for Astrid. Basically saying: 'Don't screw this up for me!'
Astrid had barely finished her breakfast before she suddenly rose from the table and headed to the door. She needed to get out of there before she punched the snake that sat at her kitchen table. She grabbed her bag and looked back hesitantly before continuing towards the door. She watched as her mother leaned down and kissed Spitelout on the lips, his hand sliding stealthily around her waist and down to her...
"Bye mum!" Astrid yelled, attempting to get out as quickly as possible. She couldn't stand the guy.
"Astrid? You off already honey?" Freya quickly moved to the end of the hallway whilst Astrid was already standing at the door. Astrid sighed, she had to think of a reason. Even though she hates liars, being the one that's lying can't be all bad? She guessed that's how her dad must've thought...
"Yeah, don't want to be late!" Astrid announced quickly before she rushed out the door. Her mother stood there in shock and sighed. She moved back into the kitchen and was hastily pulled into Spitelouts lap and they continued where they left off.
Astrid sighed once she closed the door. Yep, she still hates lying and never can do it to her family. She was almost as bad as... No, no she's not. This was just a little white lie. Astrid walked quickly away from her door and stopped as she reached the road. She turned her head to the right and saw a boy and his father pile into a matte black Sudan that sat on the side of the road, outside their house. Astrid shrugged and continued to walk to school. Perhaps they were the new neighbours she had visited yesterday. Could that be Henry and his father? Maybe, but he had to be going to the same school as her right? Perhaps she'll meet him there. She was rather anxious to meet him after seeing that mysterious boy in the house next door, she just needed to see his face.
All she saw was a sexy silhouette but hoped that his face would be even better...
