"So you think you made the right choice?" Kristoff asked after Astrid had told him about what happened between her and Hiccup. But she didn't even know whether she was happy with her answer.
It's been a week since their argument, and Hiccup had been acting strangely. Astrid was unsure as to whether she was to blame for Hiccup's odd behaviour and his rebellious activity. Hiccup had been getting into trouble, detentions every week and his friendship with the troublemakers getting even stronger. Astrid felt guilty about his behaviour, she felt like it was all her fault.
"I don't know... But he won't even speak to me anymore. He definitely hates me." Astrid replied and sunk herself further into the sofa and groaned in pain.
"But why do you even feel guilty about what happened? He was being too controlling. You know the reason why he was in the wrong." Kristoff said ominously, but Astrid just looked at him with a puzzled look.
"Yeah, he was being worse than you." Astrid joked as Kristoff took a deep breath in mock offence.
"WHAT?! Are you freaking kidding me?!" Kristoff yelled, soon they both heard hurried footsteps as the librarian approached them both.
"Shush! Don't make me kick you out, Kristoff." She scolded and Kristoff just nodded in response.
"What?"
"Are you saying that I try to control your love life?! Now that, young lady, is offensive to me. I only want you to be happy and safe." Kristoff replied, quieter but with the same level of anger. Astrid sighed with a small chuckle.
"I'm sorry. I just have to be happy with the choice I have made. I need to find out for myself whether this Eret situation, is a big mistake." Astrid replies heartily and honestly. She made the choice and it's one she must live with. She's old enough to make her own decisions and know whether those choices are mistakes.
"Okay... Ah darn! I'm gonna be late... And I was talking about Eret." He exclaimed and quickly grabbed his stuff.
"Got a date with another woman?!" She asked in disbelief and betrayal.
"Yes actually, it's Anna." He said proudly before leaving Astrid alone in the library. She laughed as he dramatically opened the door and exited the room with a flick of his hair.

Down in the cafeteria, Hiccup sat with his new friends in a state of depression. He had nothing to live for, but he was just being overdramatic. Eret slapped his back as he sat down to join them.
"Dude! You look like you got rejected from the prettiest girl in school, what happened?" Eret smiled as he sat beside Hiccup with a chuckle. Hiccup jumped out of his trance and looked over to his friend, well, they were friends now that Hiccup was avoiding Astrid. Hiccup took a deep breath as he shrugged his shoulders.
"I haven't been rejected." Hiccup lied. He couldn't tell Eret what had happened between him and Astrid, but he also couldn't tell him the real reason behind his depression. No one could know about Spitelout's blackmail. No one would believe him.
"Lucky you, I guess." Eret replied half-heartedly. The jealous part of him was starting to show, he was still suspicious about his relationship with Astrid. But he was giving him a chance, and so far it was going okay.
"I'm sorry. I've been too distracted lately, I just need something to divert my attention." Hiccup admitted. He wanted to do something fun to keep his mind off of Astrid and smile genuinely for once.
"I guess I'm just being stupid, but what if we TP the principal's office? That will distract you right?" One of the boy's suggested and a smirk appeared on Hiccup's face.
