"I cannot believe you thought Buffalo Wings were made from actual Buffalo!" Hiccup laughed as the two of them entered Astrid's house. She quickly dashed to the alarm and entered the code before retorting back.
"Well, why do they call them Buffalo wings if they aren't made from Buffalo?! Why can't they just call them 'chicken wings'?" Astrid whined, she was more upset that she had embarrassed herself in front of the waiter rather than Hiccup. In his eyes, she could do no wrong.
However, in this instance... She had him cracking up like shattering glass. He was ready to roll in the floor from laughing so hard.
"Except that's already a thing. Besides, Buffalo wings are chicken wing's in BBQ sauce!" Astrid turned to Hiccup as he burst out into another fit of laughter as he threw his jacket off and hung it on the coat rack. "I'm sorry... But it's still funny." He chuckled as he followed her into the kitchen.
"Everything is a lie! The food industry is a lie! The English language is a lie!"
"Life's a lie!" Hiccup finished off, earning a small chuckle from her as well.
"Yes... it is." She smiled, Hiccup walked over to her and wrapped his arms around her waist. He smiled down at his girlfriend as she looked back up to him her usual innocent smile.
"But the only truth I know... is you." He replied sweetly, causing a blush to appear on Astrid's cheeks as he stole a quick peck from her lips.
"How did I end up with such a cheesy boyfriend?" Astrid joked with a small chuckle. Hiccup pouted at her as she continued laughing.
"You don't like it?"
"I don't like what you do to me!" Astrid admitted shyly. Hiccup smirked and leaned in closer, almost whispering in her ear.
"And what is it exactly, that I do to you m'lady?" Hiccup whispered into her ear, the way his voice hit her ears caused a shiver to run down Astrid's spine.
"Stop it, Hiccup..." Hiccup smiled and pulled away with a cheeky grin.
"You look cute when you blush." He smiled as Astrid reached up to her cheeks and touched them softly to encourage them to cool down. Astrid looked up to him with a smile.
It was something Astrid always admired about her boyfriend. No matter what they were doing, whenever she'd say 'no' or 'stop', he'd stop. Astrid had always appreciated the lengths Hiccup would go to to make sure she was happy. To make sure she felt safe. To make sure she felt loved. Hiccup had never failed on that aspect anyway.
"Shut up." She pushed him away softly and hit him across the arm playfully. Hiccup loved the way he could make her blush, it was the only outward reaction he could read properly, her face barely gave anything away. But he could sometimes tell what she was thinking.
"Alright, alright..." Hiccup smiled and surrendered in defeat. He turned around and wandered over to the kitchen table. He spied something that looked out of place and picked it up.
"So, what do you wanna do for the rest of the night?" Astrid asked as she turned around and smiled, but her expression changed when Hiccup didn't answer her and continued to stare down at the table. "Hiccup? What's wrong?" She slowly made her way over to his side. She placed a hand on his arm and nudged him out of the trance and caused him to turn to her with a wide smirk.
"I have some things in mind?" He smirked mischievously at her whilst passing her the note. Astrid grabbed it hastily and read through it quickly.
"Oh, okay? So my mum's gonna be gone till tomorrow. You want to stay over?" Astrid asked innocently. Hiccups smirk grew wider, as he stepped closer causing Astrid to step back slightly. "What?" She continued stepping back as Hiccup continued to move closer. She suddenly hit the countertop and had nowhere else to go. Hiccup smirked as he leaned over her, his arms either side of her for balance.
