Chapter 3

Silverwood

One of the new arrivals was a girl who appeared to be about a year younger than me and had long, wavy blonde hair that spilled over her back like a waterfall of gold. She had bright green eyes and freckles that lightly dusted her nose. She was wearing a light pink, floral shirt against a flowy green skirt. I noticed that she had a silver charm bracelet with little green leaf charms attached to it. Her feet were covered by golden gladiator-style sandals.

The boy that was with her was easily older than me, he was extremely tall and muscular, his sandy colored hair windswept and perfect. He was wearing a blue tank top and shorts, he also had on "boy sandals".

The lady spoke again addressing the newcomers , "Lucille Bronski and Maxwell Tuller."

"Yeah." They both said in unison.

"Well now that we are all here let's get to some introductions. I am Madame Goldenstone." She nodded for me to speak next. I cleared my throat.

"I am Kendra Abbot, I am 16 years old and I live in London, England." I said confidently. I saw Maxwell staring at me and I quickly looked away, blushing.

Josh stepped forward, "Hi I'm Joshua Marlow but you can call me Josh. I am 14 years old and I live in Durango, Colorado."

Lucille was the next one to step up, "Hi everyone, my name is technically Lucille Bronski but everyone calls me Lucy." She said with a wink. "I am 15 years old and I live in Boston, Massachusetts."

Maxwell looked unsure as he stepped forward, "My name is Maxwell but I go by Max. I'm 17 years old and I live in Los Angeles, California." Madame Goldenstone clapped her hands together as soon as she realized we were finished.

"So this place is a school called called Siverwood Academy for the Gifted and I am the Principle of this school. And when I say gifted I mean people with magical abilities, like you all."

"So you mean that we are all like wizards or something?"I asked.

"Not only wizards but seven other types of magical beings. These beings include wizards/witches, animal whisperers, fairies, elves, angels, wise ones, mermen/mermaids, and manipulators. Each one of you is extremely special because you are the Divine Ones. This means that each one of you is at least two creatures at once, half one being, half another. Now... any questions?" She asked looking at us expectantly.

It was a lot to take in, I tried to make sense of all the thoughts that were buzzing around in my head. Suddenly Josh's voice snapped my thoughts back to reality.

"So how do we know which ones we are?" He questioned.

"It will all be revealed in two days time in the test." Madame Goldenstone replied smoothly, like she has done this a thousand time, which she probably has. I thought to myself. "I think that is enough questions for now, all of your questions will be answered when we take a tour of the Academy."

Lucy's eyes lit up, "Oh cool! When do we get to do that." She squealed excitedly.

Madame Goldenstone smiled, the gesture looked strange on her. "Now."
