Chapter 6
Dormitories
“Hey you’re that girl that visited the restaurant last night!”She exclaimed while helping me from the pad. “I’m Amelia Pond and welcome to your new home at the castle, it’s called the Magic House for obvious reasons. So I never caught your name.”
“It’s Kendra.” I mumbled through the dizziness that fogged up my brain.
“Nice name, here sit down. The teleporter always sets people off a little the first time they use it.” She led me toward a victorian-style couch and I flopped down, grateful for the resting place. Once my head had cleared I looked around and noticed of the other people in the room sitting on the couch across from me. Amy checked her watch, “Okay so the effects should have worn out by now so how about some introductions. Thats Rose.” She pointed to a girl with straight blonde hair and dark eyelashes. Rose was wearing a t-shirt with the british flag on it and some plain blue jeans. A black hoodie partially zipped also covered her top.
“Ello.” Rose said with a small wave.
“That’s Donna.” Amy said motioning towards a girl with plain brown hair that hung limply past her shoulders and past her large gold hoop earrings. She was wearing a flowy gray tunic over a purple tanktop, a thick brown belt covering her waist. She was wearing play navy blue jeans and plain brown shoes. Donna just smiled and nodded at me.
“She’s River.” Amy said and nodded towards a girl with stunning blonde curly hair that stuck out everywhere. She was wearing a plain white blouse underneath a denim jacket. She was also wearing jeans and brown cowboy boots.
“Hello sweetie.” River said and smiled at me.
“This is Martha.” Amy stated and pointed to a girl with dark skin and short black hair that was pulled into a ponytail. She had on silver hoop earrings and a short necklace with a small blue pendant on it. She was wearing a plain brown tank top underneath a mocha colored leather jacket. She also had plain jeans on with brown shoes.
“Hi!” Martha said while flashing me a small smile.
“And this is Clara.” Amy finished while putting her hand on a girl’s shoulder who had dark brown wavy hair. She was wearing a plaid dress that reached just above her knees. She was also wearing black tights and simple brown shoes with laces.
“Hiya!” Clara said cheerily.
Amy herself had vibrant red hair and was wearing a baggy red sweater and short black shorts over thin black tights. She was also wearing dark blue converse high-tops. Everyone there had a british accent, including me, except for Amy who’s thick scottish accent sounded a bit out of place. This made me wonder how many witches lived in London.
“So before I show you around do you have any questions about this place?” Amy asked.
I thought for a moment. “Yes actually, I do. Why did a monkey lead me here?” I questioned, causing the room to erupt with laughter.
“That was Tifo, he’s Madame Goldenstone’s errand monkey. He basically goes on errands for her, like fetching you. Right, so let’s give you the grand tour!” She said wiggling her eyebrows at me. “This is the common room.” She yelled throwing her hands into the air. “This is where everyone hangs out when they’re not in their rooms.”
I scanned the area, there was a coffee table in between the two couches, all sorts of strange knick-knacks littered its surface. Parallel to the front of the table was fireplace that had glowing embers in it.
“Sorry about that.” Martha said and produced a flame in the palm of her hand to shoot into the fire, causing a blast of heat to wash over me. I just squeaked in response. She laughed, “Soon you’ll be able to do that too.” She said with a wink.
