His heart still ached from the thought of her.
He wanted to be close, yet, he feared what that would bring.
He thought about his heartbreak.
He thought about the moments spent with her.
Through the pain, it seemed worth it.
He didn't know her. She didn't know him.
But he wondered about her, more than he thought he should.
So, he took the chance in hopes of changing his broken heart.
He followed the call of his feet to the pier.
From across the bay, he saw her standing on the pier.
Her red skirt dancing in the breeze, her brown hair twisted into a knot.
For a moment she saw him and it took his breath away.
That's when he knew he'd made the right choice.
