Samuel must have drained some of his strength, the demon thought, holding the boy as he watched the building burn to the ground. Ciel leaned in fully against Sebastian, being wrapped in two coats now, nodding his head as he continued to fight off sleep.
"Let us find a hotel for the night, young master," Sebastian said, beginning the two hour walk towards London. "Okay," the boy whispered, breaking into a yawn. "...I'm tired." The demon smirked, holding Ciel's held to his shoulder and allowing for him to fall asleep in only a few minutes.
Where should the mark be placed, he found himself thinking. Sebastian glanced down at Ciel, his eyes flashing a burning garnet with pride and possessiveness.
On the hand can be easily concealed and both easily shown. But something like that is far too simple for something this unique of a soul. Perhaps the back of the neck? Or perhaps the shoulder blade?
Wine red eyes landed on closed orbs, instantly being reminded of how they would light up in awe and curiosity. They showed the most perfect color of sapphire blue, and Sebastian could only imagine how his mark would look on one of those eyes.
Yes, my young master would look absolutely perfect with my mark.
That's when he smelled something sour. The smell of something resembling rotten meat, and the sound of swift feet.
Sebastian stepped forward, twirling to the side to just barely miss a sword's tip that grazed his hairline. A being, about as tall as the demon, halted and glared at Sebastian with his sword drawn against his side. He was dressed mostly white clothing, eyes a dark purple was the being's hair was as equally pale as his skin. But despite his human appearance, a pair of large wings folded at his back, their color matching with the snowy ground.
Sebastian's smirk grew, holding Ciel tighter and securely in his arms. "What a pleasant surprise to see someone like you here. Do what do I owe the pleasure?"
The angel scowled, outstretching his sword. "Give me the child and I'll make your death a quick action." The demand earned him a chuckle, the demon's shadow growing and releasing smoke like gas. "Do you really believe that I would give up something this precious to you? My, you insult rather then amuse me with a joke that poor."
"I will not ask you again, demon!"
At the shout, Ciel let out a small whine as he slightly stirred in Sebastian's arms. He adjusted his hold, supporting the boy with one arm. With his smirk growing, he made a gesture of keeping quiet. "Shh, he's sleeping, you know."
The angel grunted, using his wings to thrust himself forward. Sebastian twirled aside once more, dodging each and every move with swiftness and ease so to better not have the chance of waking Ciel.
"If you refuse to hand him over then we shall take him by force."
A thick, black whip wrapped itself around the demon's neck and jerked him still. The sword made a hit, settling deep into Sebastian's chest. Dangerously close to Ciel's head.
Sebastian coughed up blood, the whip pulling him back as the sword pushed out of his back. The demon landed on the ground, one arm supporting his body as he roughly dropped the boy beside him.
Ciel's eyes snapped open, quickly sitting up. "Sebastian?"
The angel abandoned his weapon, darting to grab for the child but the demon jumped and dragged the being down. "Ciel, run. Now."
The boy made a move to protest, his eyes staring at the sword still jammed into the demon's chest but Sebastian growled and shoved him towards the cover of the treeline. "Now!"
He ran then, not looking back as he pushed passed bushes. Tears surfaced at the corners of Ciel's eyes but he whipped them away.
There was no need to cry, no reason. Sebastian was strong and smart, he reminded himself. This was nothing. Ciel knew Sebastian could beat that monster and find him, all he had to do is have faith.
"Well, why so frightened, dear boy," a woman cooed, seeming to appear in front of him. She wore a long, white dress with a black whip curled at her side. Her wings bent behind her, shielding Ciel from the view of the moon. Purple eyes gleaming wickedly towards him.
The boy took a step back, stumbling to the ground by a surfaced root. She crouched to be better leveled with him, outstretching a gloved hand. "Come, it's alright. Let me help you escape from that beast, I can take you away from him and purify you."
Ciel crawled back from her before he shot up and dashed away. The angel sighed, annoyed, standing up straight before grabbing her whip. It seems that he wants to be difficult.
Sebastian stood between the angel and the woods, the sword once pierced through his chest now in hand. However, blood continued to flow from his wound albeit small. The demon payed no mind to it, focusing mainly on the enemy and slightly on Ciel's heartbeat. Each step the boy made, more distance separating him and Sebastian.
"Tell me, why allow yourself such an injury for the sake of a petty child," the angel asked, darting towards Sebastian with a second sword of his own. He was quick to act, blocking the strike with his own and using his other hand to jab into his stomach.
The angel coughed up the red liquid, his white suit quickly becoming stained with it. Sebastian then pushed back against his blade and swung his own to slice a gaping wound from his left shoulder to his hip.
"Why, is none of your concern. Though, I must say that you must have left your paradise recently, for your blood still smells as retched as those wings," the demon chuckled, flicking the sword in the air to better rid it off the angel's blood. "But, no matter, this will be quick. My young master needs me and I shall-"
"Sebastian!"
The demon froze, noticing how much more frantic the boy's heartbeat was and how quickly it began to race in his ears. She has him.
Sebastian turned around, dropping his sword at the sight. The female, dressed closely like the male, gripped her whip with one hand as she held Ciel's hair in the other. The boy crying and kicking at her but not being able to squirm out of her hold.
"No, let go of me! Sebastian, help me! Please," he begged, those deep blue eyes staring into him with desperation. Fear and panic obvious in those orbs, utterly paralyzing the demon where he stood. "Please, Seba-" Ciel cut himself off.
The angel's sword swung high, jamming itself in the demon's skull but not completely slicing his head off his body. Sebastian fell to the ground as if boneless, the sword in his hand released.
Ciel could have sworn that his heart stopped. "No...," he breathed, eyes instantly becoming glossy yet dull. "S-Sebastian...no."
He was dead, killed by the monster. What was he to do now? What would they do to him? The boy was yanked onto his knees, his head pulled up to face the other angel that held him down. "Do not worry, child, for that was only the easy part. What comes next will purify you for our father."
Then, his world turned black.
AN: Please don't be mad at me, It's part of the plot and I'm sorry for this chapter being short. Though, I'm not saying if he lives or not. Oh, and next chapter will have some gore in it.
