We walk into the restaurant. It was a boardwalk café, what you'd see usually. The waitress comes over to give us a table, and we get a private one, on a balcony. I get water, and he gets coke. I look down at the beach, and there isn't a lot of people playing in the water. I turn and look at my menu. "What're you gonna get?" Matt asked. "I might get steak," "Uh, um--" "What's wrong? Don't like it?" he asked again, except with more curiosity. "Um, I'm vegan," I breathed. "Oh, sorry," he said. "What about the shrimp pasta?" I hesitated. "I'm allergic to shellfish." "Oops, sorry, again." He said, looking down. "Damn, anything else that way I don't make myself seem like a dumbass fool?" I giggle. "I'm allergic to dark chocolate, also. I like the colors sea foam green, pink pastel, baby blue, and marshmallow white, I have three dogs." He smiles but half smirks. "That's it?" I roll my eyes. "What, you want me to say I'm single? Because I am, but I like someone else. You might know them." I laugh. "That's it for now." He grins. "Okay." We both order salads and the specials' sandwiches. After eating our main course, we order chocolate ice cream cake. He pays for us and we leave, then heading out to the beach to talk.

"Can I ask you something?" Matt asked. "Sure." He hesitated, then said it. "I-I--uh, damn this is hard to say." He groaned. "What's wrong?" I asked. He shook his head. "Nothing, um. Do you, uh, um, l-like me?" He shoved his hands in the pockets of his shorts. I stayed quiet for a moment. Did I like him? I wasn't sure. I breathed out and frowned. When we kissed, I felt something, even it was just for a scene. But it was different, hanging around with him. I felt electricity running through me when I was around Cameron, but not like this. I was confused. Who did I like? Do I choose Matt? I looked at him, and he was kicking the sand as we walked. Probably eager for a "yes", I thought. I stopped. He looks up and turns toward me. I breathe in some air before letting it out. "Yes."
