Summer Romance

Chapter 10

*Kayla's POV*

I can't believe how well everyone was taking the news. Lindsey seems a little mad, I don't know why exactly. I try to just focus on the happiness, but I couldn't. My best friend is mad at me. Why would she be mad? "Kayla, can we talk for a second?," she asks me. I tell Cameron I'll be right back and Lindsey tells Shawn the same thing. She grabs me by the arm and we go in the kitchen, since everyone else is in the living room. "Why didn't you tell me?," Lindsey asks me. I was confused. Why isn't she just happy for me? She's my best friend. "Why can't you just be happy for me?," I asked her sounding more angry than I wanted to. "I'm happy because you like him and he likes you, but you could've told me at least," she says, sounding annoyed with me. I tell her, "I didn't tell you because I didn't even know what we were and-." Lindsey cut me off by saying, "Okay... Yeah... Whatever...," walking away. "Lindsey! I can explain!," I yelled after her. She just keeps walking away and acts like I'm not even here. I run upstairs and lock the bathroom door. I can hear Cam say, "Where's Kayla?" Lindsey told him and now I could hear him coming upstairs.

*Cameron's POV* 

I go upstairs to see that Kayla locked herself in the bathroom. I walk up to the soor. "Kayla? It's Cam. Are you okay? Can I come in?," I ask her. She opens the door and I see her eyes are puffy and red, filled with tears. "Lindsey is m-mad at m-me and I don't know w-what to do," Kayla tells me. "Shhh, it's okay Kayla. Everything will be okay," I asure her. I feel so bad and its killing me inside seeing her like this. I quickly pull her in for a hug and she burries her face into my chest, while I rub her back and try to calm her down. She takes some deep breaths. "We are going to go downstairs to sort things out. We can make sure that we hear the full story, okay?," I ask Kayla. "Alright.... Thanks for coming up here to check on me, I really appreciate it," she tells me. "Any time," I tell her as we head downstairs. Lindsey was sitting on the couch by herself  just on her phone ignoring everyone, even Shawn, which is really weird. She wanted nothing to do with anyone right now. "Lindsey? I think you need to let Kayla talk," I say and Lindsey puts dowm her phone, and she takes one deep breath. "Okay. I'm sorry for not letting you talk earlier. Go ahead," she says to Kayla. Kayla tells her, "I didn't tell you because I didn't really even know myself. I didn't know if we were friends, or more than that. I was going to tell you, buut I didn't because I probably would have told you something that wasn't true, and that might have been even more of a problem."

*Lindsey's POV*

"Oh, okay. Well I'm glad you told me this, Sorry for bing a jerk. I shouldv'e listened," I tell Kayla. "I think you shouldv'e told her something though. Like tell her and say you think, but you aren't entirely sure about it yet," Shawn said to Kayla. "Shawn! Let it be. They can take care of it by themselves. We are just here to listen and make sure nothing gets out of control," Cameron says as he hit Shawn's arm a little when he said his name. I look up at Shawn and he looked like he felt bad. I could tell he was also on Kayla's side. It probably would have started more stuff if she lied or said something onlt partially true. Shawn probably just didn't want to admit it. He typically hates being wrong and/or doing things wrong. I look up and over at Cameron to see what expression he has on his face. Cam looks annoyed with Shawn and he keeps looking at him to make sure he isn't looking at Kayla all mad. He's protective of her and it seems like he really loves her for her. After we discuss things for a little longer, me and Kayla made up. Shawn and Cameron seem to have mostly made up, but Cam was keeping an eye on him just in case. I guess Cam and Kayla would make a really cute couple. He is so weet to her and I know he isn't going to let anything bad happen to her. 

*Shawn's POV*

I'm glad that Kayla and Lindsey made up. They are best friends, and I know that they always will be too. They need each other. Lindsey told me that they understand each other and Meg does the same. They are all so close and when they are together, they are happy, and as long as Lindsey's happy, so am I. Cameron is watching me closely, probably to make sure I didn't bother Kayla again. I'm not paying too much attention to that because I'll feel awkward if I do. It's only like 7:00 now. What to do? "Guys?! Want to play truth or dare?," I suggested. "I want to!," Said Meg and Hayes at the same time. "Cameron and I will play!," Kayla said happily. Lindsey nods her head and we all sit in a circle with snacks in the middle. "Hayes, you are going first haha. I just decided you are so, go ahead," I tell Hayes. 

*Meg's POV*

"Hmm... Okay, Meg, Truth or dare?," I heard Hayes ask me. I have no idea which one to pick. Who knows what I'll have to do or what crazy question I'll have to answer in front of everyone. "Meg?! Pick one! haha Truth or dare?," Cam repeats the question to me. I finally make up my mind. I guess I'll chose truth and just hope that we start out with some easy truths. Wow... I was wrong. I should've known this was going to happen. I see Shawn whisper in Hayes's ear because he didn't know what to ask. Hayes smirks at me and he says, "Okay Meg, who do you have a crush on?" "Wow really original guys haha," I tell them. Oh god... Now what am I supposed to say?
