Daydreams

Dancing under the stars.

Graceful silhouettes, twine in the moonlight.

The shimmering shine of time,

Forgotten long ago.

Bitter sweet aroma of wine,

Lingers on my lips.

Placing my hands around your neck,

Yours rest easy in the small of my back.

Swaying left,

Swaying right,

Resting my head on your chest.

Whispers of sweet nothings,

Dance around my ears,

Yet, my mind is lost,

Hooked on your scent.

Lifting my head, I gaze up, meeting eyes for the very first time.

The corners of your mouth turn slowly,

Exposing a smile so delightful,

I feel complete bliss.

Hair stands as you lean in, yet,

I pull away, and in that moment,

Realization swarms.

There isn't anyone here but me.
