As I lay there awake,
Occasionally I will glance over to watch you sleep so peacefully.
Legs entwined,
Your fingers locked in mine.
A cool breeze passes through our gaps.
I replay our moments over and over in my mind,
Smiling with each memory.
You skin is so soft against mine,
I can't help but to melt into your arms.
There's a whistle among us both,
A drum that beats so rhythmically,
This is my favorite song.
I wonder what you're thinking when you look into my eyes,
Do you see the same thing as me, as I gaze upon your mind?
Two complex individuals,
Destined to be apart, but somehow managed to never leave the others side.
I love these moments that we share.
Just the smallest encounters please me.
This is perfect, I think to myself.
As I endure another night of insomnia.
