“What were you thinking.” Noah asked as I walked past him and down the hall. I heard footsteps behind me but made no attempt to acknowledge that he was behind me. I walked into the spare bedroom and slammed the door shut. I slid down the door and looked around the room. It was still the same from when Jay was here. His clothes thrown all over the floor and the unmade bed. I rested my head on the door and closed my eyes. A soft knock came from the door, I stood up and open the door slightly to see Noah standing there. I closed the door in his face and locked it. I walked over to the bed and laid down on it, I grabbed the blanket from the end over the bed and covered myself with it. I turned around in the bed and looked out the balcony door. The moon brought light into the bedroom. My eyes started to close and I fell into a deep sleep.
I rode on Dallas through the trees and out into a clearing, it was stunning. Small flowers grew between the grass. I slid off her and walked under the canopy of trees. Looking up I saw more flowers. I laid down on the grass, leaves crunched from the impact of my weight. I laid still on the ground breathing peacefully in and out. More leaves could be heard breaking and I opened my eyes to see. Seth Adams.
I screamed as loud as I could but still could see his piercing blue eyes. They have haunted my dreams since I saw that picture of him that Sergeant Moore showed me. My breathing became ragged and I felt light headed, I swayed from side to side. A knock came from my door but I couldn’t get up to answer it.
“Abigail, are you alright.” Noah asked through the door. More knocking sounded on my door then silence. There was a crack and then a bang and there was Noah running over to me. My vision blurred and everything went black.
My whole body was shaking as I tried to open my eyes. Bright lights flooded my vision as I looked straight into the white ceiling. I turned my head to the side and groaned in pain. Sun now replaced the moon from last night.
“Abigail, are you awake?” I heard Noah ask from behind me. I turned my head to face him. A worried expression crossed his face as our eyes locked. I opened my mouth to speak but nothing came out. I sighed heavily and nodded my head. I swallowed managing to get moisture back into my mouth and spoke to Noah.
“What happened?” I remembered waking up from the dream than nothing.
“You passed out as I came into the room. Sorry about the door.” He said. I looked over at the door to see it smashed to pieces.
“It’s ok, I can replace that. What time is it?” I asked looking around the room.
“Just after 9.” He said peering down at his watch. I sat up and my head started spinning again. I squeezed my head with my hands trying to stop the agonizing pain. Words from Noah filled my head but didn’t make complete sentences. I pushed my hands harder into my temple trying to ease the pain. Water and two tablets were showed in front of me and I took them instantly. I laid back down and closed my eyes.
“Abiga-”
“Please call me Bibi.” I said opening my eyes to look at him. He nodded his head and then continued to speak.
“Since you are now awake, when you are well enough we will have to leave. The sooner we are away from where Seth knows you are the better.” He said looking straight into my eyes.
“How much longer do we have then?” I curiously asked.
“As long as you need. We just need to leave before nightfall.” He replied. Noah excused himself and left the room. I rolled over to look back out at the light shinning through the window. I sat up in bed and swung my legs over the side of the bed. I stood up slowly and walked over to the balcony door. I looked out to my farm and thought about when I will get to see it again. I opened the balcony door and walked outside, hot air hit my face and I breathed in the scent of the coming rain. I sat down on the balcony floor and learning up against the rails for support. It’s going to be different not living at the farm. I didn’t even really know who this man was, let alone where he was taking me. I sighed heavily about the thought of leaving my home, and Jay. I looked into the sky to see clouds across it. My eyes drifted over the mountains that were miles and miles away. Even for a cloudy day the sun was still beating down on me, making me hot in my jeans and flannelette shirt. Time passed by from me sitting on the balcony taking one last look at my home. I sighed heavily and stood up, I brushed my jeans down getting the dust off them. I walked down the stairs and saw Noah drinking a coffee.
