Superpowers

Chapter 4

Julie and I headed toward cabin 16. We walked into the cabin and saw 6 beds inside, one of them with my bags on it. The other girls were sitting on their beds and chatting while checking their phones. Julie walked in ahead of me and sat down on her bed, which happened to be next to mine. The girls stopped chatting and looked up from their phones.

"Hey, you're Rebecca, right?" one of them asked.

She had blonde curly hair, blue eyes, and lots of freckles. She looked nice.

"Yeah," I responded quickly.

The rest of the group then introduced themselves to me. 

"I'm Jessie and this is Sasha, Anna, and Mia. I can blend into my surroundings, kind of like a chameleon."

Sasha had brown hair, deep brown eyes and a sweet smile. Anna had short blonde hair and green eyes. Mia had black hair that was put up in a bun, dark brown eyes and glasses. They all smiled at me.

Sasha said, "I can freeze things!"

"That's so cool!" I remarked.

Anna snorted. "Cool, get it?"

We all laughed.

Anna said enthusiastically, "I have super strength!"

Mia piped in . "I can shape shift."

Mia started to laugh as she turned herself into a basketball. We all started laughing so hard that our stomachs began to hurt. We could hear Mia's voice coming from within the basketball!

"Hey!" she said, then turned back into a human. She tried to grunt but it came out as a snort. Jack and Colin walked in and saw Mia snorting.

"Okay..." Colin said slowly.

Jack turned to me. "Training is in five minutes. Annabelle, your trainer, told me to tell you that Silvia just informed her..."

Jack looked confused. "Anyway, you will train on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 1:00 to 3:00. You should meet her at the archery field on these days. On Thursdays, everyone at camp forms into groups of 4 and goes to fight city crime. We do this to put our training to use. They are training us to be superheroes. Annabelle will explain more to you later."

I asked, "How do you know all this?"

"I've been here since I was little," he explained.

Colin asked, "So...we were wondering if you wanted to be in a group with myself, Jack, and Julie?"

"Yes! That'll be awesome!" I exclaimed.

"Sweet!" said Jack. He sped out of the cabin while leaving a trail of fire behind him.

"Wait up!" Colin yelled.

Sasha stood up and complained, "Ugh! I hate it when he does that!" She began to put out the fire with her freezing powers and then left to leave the cabin, following Jack.

"I'd better go as well, or I'll be late for training!" I realized.
