Once inside my cabin, I sat down on my bed. I got some paper and wrote to my parents.
Dear Mom and Dad,
I'm having a great time at boarding school. It's more like a camp though. I made plenty of friends: Jack, Colin, Anna, Sasha, Mia, Jesse...They all have awesome powers like super speed, strength, freezing things, shape shifting, and invisibility! The food is great and they have amazing activities! Thanks so much for sending me here!
See you during winter break,
Rebecca :) <3
I folded up the letter, stamped it, and headed towards the mailbox. There was a large crowd surrounding it. I asked what was going on and received an odd response.
"This talking mailbox has decided to go on strike because he never gets any free time or breaks," a tall girl with curly blonde hair responded.
I pushed my way through the crowd to see the mailbox complaining to a counselor.
"I never get any breaks! I always work and I don't think it's fair that the washing machine gets free time, and so do the computers, but I don't!"
"Why don't we figure this out with the head counselor," the counselor replied soothingly.
They both made their way through the crowd while I asked the girl with curly hair, "How is the mailbox able to talk?"
"That counselor talking to him has the ability to give objects life," she explained.
I was about to ask something else when I heard the dinner bell ringing. I ran towards the dining hall, hoping to be towards the front of the food line.
