Quan
I put everyone in the truck and stormed home. Gina sat in the back with Emma since she wasn't feeling good.
I slammed out of the truck and closed the garage after Gina carried Emma through the door. I went outside to the patio and Jade was sitting in the pool chair. Her phone was on the table beside the chair.
Music was playing but it sounded like the kind of music women play when they just had a breakup.
I got closer to her and she was sobbing. Sobbing pretty hard at that.
I sat down in the chair beside her and turned my legs facing her. She stopped and looked at me.
She looked terrible. Her makeup was ruined. Her cheeks were stained from the mascara and her neck was wet of tears.
She turned the opposite way and wiped her tears.
I took her phone and paused the music.
She turned back around and snatched the phone.
She got up quick and sniffed.
"Jade." I said lowly.
She pressed the home button on her phone and observed the lock screen.
She walked off, but not for long.
"Jade. Sit down!" I yelled. She stopped in her tracks and turned around. She came back and sat down rubbing her stomach.
"Give me your phone." I asked her. She looked right at me. Surprised, she gave it to me.
I went to her photos and located the picture she showed me.
"Listen. I didn't cheat on you-" she snickered.
"Jade! Let me explain, damn girl!" I yelled again. She sighed and looked at me.
"I was out that night. I went with some of the boys, but I couldn't find them cause it was packed that night. I got tired of looking for them, so I got me a drink. I sat down a seat away from this stripper talking to the bartender. She stopped talking to him after he brought two drinks. The bartender snuck a look at me and smirked. I ignored it and turned around looked for the boys. The stripper interrupted me. She asked if I wanted my drink. I ignored her and drunk it. I tasted weird, but I did ask for something new. Momentarily I felt weird, the only thing I remember is her taking me to a chair and giving me a lap dance-" Jade snickered.
"So you did cheat?!" She yelled.
I sighed. "It wasn't my fault baby I was-"
"NO! You cheated on me! And don't you ever call me baby again. You got damn cheated! I can't believe you-"
The patio door slammed and Gina came out storming.
"Jade, I've been overhearing these arguments and I'm tired of it. I listen to every single word that comes outta both of y'all mouths and you the problem Jade. It's you. Quan is doing his best and you never let him speak. When we was at the bowling alley, you didn't have to slap him in front of all them people. Y'all two know I hate my husband but I would never slap him out in public even if he deserved it. That's just the kindness out of my heart. Don't take this the wrong way Jade cause I love y'all. Y'all like family to me and Emma. But you gotta start listening. Listen to your man. He loves you with all his heart. I remember one night he couldn't sleep and he came to my room to talk. Just about you. I know he loves you. You just gotta let him have his turn. I know Quan so well now by being y'all's lawyer and I know he wouldn't cheat. Let him explain hun. Then after that you can have your turn. All this stress ain't good for my babies inside of you. You can't have a miscarriage or I will cry forever. Please, let him explain." Gina took everything outta my mouth.
I looked from Gina to Jade and she was crying.
"Go hug him Jade. Get some comfort." She brought her to me. I wrapped my arms around her and she just sobbed and sobbed and sobbed.
"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry Quan. I didn't know I hurt you so much- I just don't know." She sniffed. She sobbed in between every few words. I shushed her.
"Don't say that. You didn't hurt me. You just never let me talk. I would never cheat on you baby. I love you too much. We been through hell and back and I'd never put you back in those situations." Soon we were rocking side to side still hugging.
"Quan?" She sniffed.
"Yes babygirl!" I squeezed her.
She let go of me and looked up at me.
"I'm sorry. I love you so much." She grabbed my hands glaring at me. I didn't say anything. I didn't need to. All I did was kiss her.
At the end of the day I know she's hurt. That's why I try my best to love her, treat her good, and show her that she has the best man alive. Now that we settled our problems, tomorrow or the day after, I may pop out and ask the big question...
