Chapter 11:  Confessions

          Walker Code 002- Love your twin

Tanner

He felt bad, Maria was right, he had betrayed her. She had trusted him and what did he do? He punched her right across the face, knocked her out cold and then locked her up in her own room. Some brother I am, he thought to himself feeling rather sad. He was not only disloyal but he was also selfish. Tanner had not only divulged his twin’s secret, but he had also revealed Hayden’s as well because he was worried about himself. He was a jerk, a real jerk.

Sitting in Mrs. Hail’s classroom, after imprisoning Maria; he kept silently bringing himself down as the teacher talked with Hayden not too far away from him. Tanner had already apologized to the Night Walker at least five times because he felt so guilty about revealing her ability without her consensus; she had forgiven him saying that she was probably would have informed Mrs. Hail of her situation sooner or later. But Tanner now preferred to have done it later.

Eventually the teacher turned her attention to Tanner. “Telekinesis is actually a very common ability.” Mrs. Hail said to him, because Maria wasn’t there to hear it. “But it’s very difficult to control.”

“What does that mean?” Hayden asked sitting on the desk beside Tanner. “It’s just moving objects with your head; it sounds pretty easy”

            “It is not “pretty easy” as you say.” The teacher continued. “You see, some immortal Walkers will have telekinesis their whole eternal lives and still won’t be able to master the ability properly. Think about how difficult it must be for an average vampire to control such a power.”

            Tanner couldn’t really think of anything to say. He really didn’t want to be here at the moment. He wanted to go see his sister. No, he needed to go see his sister.

“Maria on the other hand” Mrs. Hail said. “Seems to have a very strong hold on the element, it response to her easily which is rare, especially considering her young age.”

The teacher stopped talking and walked towards her small library. She hummed as she searched for something.

Hayden lightly pushed Tanner’s shoulder. “Stop worrying.” The Night Walker said to him with a smile. “I’m sure your sister’s fine.” 

“I wouldn’t know.” He mumbled looking away as the teacher found the book she was looking for and gasped in delight.

She walked back toward them and dropped an old thick book on the desk in front of theirs with a loud bang!

            “What’s that?” Hayden asked.

            “This Miss Brooks is a book that contains a list of all Walkers who had been known for multiplying themselves.” Mrs. Hail responded leafing through the book. 

            “Wow, that’s a lot of vampires.” Tanner commented looking at the thickness of the book.

He couldn’t help but feel a little disappointed that his ability was so common. He was hoping for some sort of twist that made him special, like Maria with her hold over telekinesis.
