Part 2! Trust me, someone is bound to squeal while reading this chapter. Will it be you?!
I smiled and looked at myself in the mirror. It's Halloween night and I'm waiting for Ron to come back home. He and Dad have been gone for a few days. I worry about Ron when he's out of the house. It scares me to imagine him coming home with a broken leg or something.
"You're going out as a soldier?", Mom asked.
"I'm going out as a weapons specialist.", I answered, "Do you think the boys will be back tonight?"
"You worried?", Mom asked and I nodded, "I am too. It's been a while since your dad has left the house for a long period of time."
I walked over to the table but stopped as the doorbell rang.
"Where's the bowl?", I asked.
"On the couch.", Mom answered and I walked over to it.
I grabbed the bowl and opened the door.
"Trick or treat.", the kids said and I handed them each a couple pieces of candy.
When they left, I walked outside and sat on the steps. Ron soon came back along with Dad. I smiled and stood up. Dad took the candy bowl from me and walked inside knowing I was going out trick or treating.
"Weapons specialist.", Ron guessed and I nodded.
"You got it.", I grinned, "Let's go."
The two of us went from house to house getting candy. We even went out of the city and went trick or treating. By the end of the night, we each had two bags full. Right now, we're sitting in the bed of Ironhide's alt mode. Ron and I are counting the pieces of candy we managed to get.
"I got 945.", Ron said.
"No fair.", I huffed, "I got 950."
Ron shook his head, smiling. Since I don't have school tomorrow due to a teacher's workshop day, we decided to spend the night outdoors on a nice hill. Of course, Dad and Mom both agreed that I could go. Ron ended up taking a piece of chocolate out of my bag before I could see.
I fell asleep in the bed after we got the candy in the back seat. Ron fell asleep next to me. When I woke up the next day, Ron was getting up as well. I looked up and saw the sunrise.
"You're already up?", Ron asked.
"I just got up. Look at the sunrise. It's so beautiful.", I smiled.
"Yeah, it is.", Ron said.
"Ron.", I said.
"Lori.", Ron said at the same time, I giggled a little.
"You first.", I said.
"Lori, that first time I came to your house it was just because Lennox said you needed someone that could connect with you better than he could. I agreed to come to the house. I was only supposed to be there for a couple days but I was intrigued by you. I eventually asked Lennox if I could stay because I felt that I had grown to, uh, love you.", Ron said, I blushed.
"I actually feel the same way.", I confessed, my light blush fading.
I laid back down and within a minute or so Ron got on top of me. I blushed from the awkward position. Our eyes locked and once again the world around us seemed to disappear. Ron's phone rang but he ignored it. Our faces got closer and closer as our eyes closed and our lips connected.
I couldn't believe it. It wasn't real. It couldn't be real. But it is.
"Be mine?", Ron asked when he pulled away.
"I'm yours.", I smiled and kissed him again.
Ron's phone rang again and he pulled back. He sat up and I sat on his lap as he answered his phone.
"Edih.", Ron said, "Oh, alright. Yeah. No, that's fine. Alright, bye."
"What's up?", I asked.
"Your dad talked to Pax and they agreed that it's time you met our comrades. Ironhide and his friends.", Ron said.
"Really?", I asked, "I can't wait! When do I get to meet them?"
"January 8th.", Ron answered.
"You'll be there with me, right?", I smiled and Ron nodded.
I couldn't wait. I was finally going to dad's base and I'll be able to meet everyone. I snuggled up to Ron and we continued to watch the sunrise.
