(Y/n)'s POV
Sook Myung wasn't going to listen to anything we said. There was no point in negotiating, it'd just be a waste of time.
What could we do instead? She was jealous because of love...right? That was what I would interpret this as. If it was something else, revenge?
"Hey Sook Myung-"
"Don't even bother."
"Why don't you look after it?"
"...what?"
"I'm going to be straightforward with you. I don't like you, not one bit. But that doesn't mean I have the right to treat you like trash, even if sometimes I think you deserve it."She stayed silent, as if she was telling me to continue. Surprising...she wasn't talking back.
"You're probably jealous of Ji Dwi treating us like we're his friends. You're probably feeling guilty that you didn't recognise him. But you've most likely been longing for love. That's why I think you should look after the tiger cub."
"...why? Why would you let me?"
"Surely you wouldn't think of killing an innocent tiger cub, would you? It hasn't done anything to you."
"*sigh* You're right, I wasn't going to kill it. After all, that'll just make you hate me even more."
"So look after it. It can be your companion. But I suggest you give it a name first instead of calling it 'it' or 'that thing'. You wouldn't like if someone called you that, would you?"
"...fine."~Some time later~
Sook Myung seemed happy now that she had 'someone' to love. That tiger cub would soon get used to her and open up to her...at least that was what I was hoping.
"I never expected you to do that," exclaimed Ji Dwi.
He sat down beside me and leaned against my shoulder.
"I'm tired, let me sleep."
"Why now? It's still morning."
"I'm tired because I had to change into a new set of clothes. The tiger cub ruined my sleeve."I just laughed. The others were all goofing around for no reason. They must be bored. I would be if I had nothing to do.
"Noona! Why don't we have a festival?!" Hansung asked excitedly.
"A festival? What for?"
"Nothing in particular. Just something to lighten up the mood! That'll be interesting, don't you think?"
"Ji Dwi, what do you think? Should we hold a festival?"
"That...doesn't sound like a bad idea. Hansung, why don't you decide on the theme?"
"Really?! Can I really?! Thanks!"
"Yeah, I want some sleep."I mentally facepalmed. Just because he wanted some sleep? *sigh* Well, it wasn't like I could change his way of thinking.
Suddenly, Ji Dwi had fallen onto my lap. Was he asleep already?! That was way too fast. He was awake only a few seconds ago.
Ji Dwi's POV
~Dream~
Where...was I? Was this a dream? Why did it feel...as if I was floating above the Earth? It felt as if the sunlight was surrounding me from every angle. The clouds felt so soft...how was I staying afloat on them?
"You're Ji Dwi, right?" asked a blonde-haired man.
"Yeah, and who may you be?"
"I'm (Y/n)'s brother, you can call me Romeo."My eyes widened. (Y/n)'s brother?! What was he doing in my dream? Wait...was this even a dream? It felt real yet fake at the same time.
"I wanted to say 'thank you'."
"To me? What for?"
"For looking after my sister. That ability to tame animals...I gave that to her because I knew that she would feel lonely. So thank you for loving her in my place."
"Why can't you tell her that you miss her?"
"I can't...I've been for forbidden to talk to her and besides, I can't hear anything she says. I guess you could call it a curse, but I don't mind."
"Oh, I'm sorry."
"There's nothing you need to apologise for. Anyway, I have to go now. Please never leave her side."What was happening? The scenery was disappearing right before my eyes. It seemed as if I had landed in a field of tall grass. Was I back on Earth? Huh? What was that? I felt something in my hand. It was a letter addressed to (Y/n).
~Dream end~
I immediately woke up and realised that I was in my room back at Hwarang House.
I needed to find (Y/n). For some reason, it felt like I would be keeping Romeo waiting for longer than I was supposed to. He must've waited years for (Y/n) to finally feel loved.I went outside and noticed that decorations and various stalls were put up around the place. So the theme for this festival was 'love'...
"Oh, Ji Dwi. You're awake."
"(Y/n), here."I handed her the letter. She carefully opened it. I peeked over her shoulder and read it with her.
Hey (Y/n),
It's Romeo, your brother. You remember, right? Well, it doesn't really matter. All I wanted to tell you is that I miss you and I love you. I'm glad you found someone to make you happy. Now you won't be lonely anymore. I'll always be watching over you, so I'd like it if you could stay happy with Ji Dwi forever.
~Love from RomeoTears slid down (Y/n)'s cheeks. I hugged her. She tried to hide the sound of her soft crying but I could still hear it.
"Don't cry, I didn't think he wanted you to read the letter and cry afterwards."
"I'm sorry, and thank you...for giving me this letter."
"(Y/n)?"She looked up with tears swelled up in her eyes. I bent down and kissed her. I could taste the saltiness of her tears.
"I love you."
"I love you too."
