I put my foot in the doorway. Bad idea.

"AAAAWWW," I yell at the top of my voice. Mum quickly opens the door again.

"Adrian, are you ok? quick, come inside," She says helping me inside while Maysie grabs the bags and follows, "Here sit on the couch and I'll get some ice for your foot," Mum said walking off to the kitchen as Maysie sat down next to me.

"So, that go as planned," She laughed.

"No, no it didn't," I said laughing as well.

"Are you laughing because it's funny or because you're nervous, because I'm laughing because I'm nervous," Maysie said sitting still, not looking anywhere but out the window.

"Maysie, come here," I say hugging her which she accepts and I can see a tear roll down her check, "Everything is going to be ok."

"I have the ice," Mum said walking back into the room, "Sorry, am I interrupting," She said turning around.

"No, it's fine mum," I said making her turn back around and bring me the ice. She placed it on my foot and stood back up.

"Dan called me and told me what you're doing," Mum stated.

"So we can stay here?" I asked.

"No, I wish you could, but didn't you think that the first place they would look for you would be here, I mean come on Adrian, it's common sense," She said raising her voice with every word. She looked at me mad and saw the hurt in my eyes and instantly went soft and had a look of guilt on her face," I'm sorry Adrian, I didn't mean it."

"It's alright mum, I know you meant it and you're right, I guess I just panicked, Maysie I think we should go, I don't think we are very welcome here," I said taking the ice off my foot and putting my shoe back on. I stood up and took my bags and took a look at my mum, She was shocked, "Bye mum, thanks for nothing," Said before walking out with Maysie following close behind. When we had nearly walked to the end of the street I heard a door slam. I turned around and Mum was stood in front of her house.

"Adrian," She yelled. She started running up to us but I just turned back around and continued walking until someone grabbed my arm and turned me around. It was Maysie.

"Adrian, you may be mad at the moment at your mum but if you walk away now you will regret it one day because she is just thinking whats the best for you at this moment in time which is something I'm not getting from my mums right now and I can't stand see you shove it away just because you think it's wrong, now I want you to go and listen to what you mum has to say," Maysie said with love and compassion in her voice. I walked over to where my mum was stand because she had seen that Maysie and I were talking.

"I'm sorry," She said bursting into tears.

"You should'nt be sorry, I over reacted, I'm sorry," I said hugging mum.

"I like her," Mum said randomly pointing at Maysie who was on her phone.

"I like her too," I said.

"Adrian, you don't just like her, you love her, I know because someone would never just give up there life to be with someone unless they loved them a lot," Mum stated truthfully, "But you picked the right one and I think you two are perfect together, you made the right chose."

"Thanks mum," I said hugging her, " I love you."

"I love you too Adrian, just look after yourselves, promise me that, ok?" Mum asked.

"I promise," I replied before leaving to go back to Maysie. I took her hand in mine and kissed her.

"What was that for?" She asked confused.

"Because I love you," I said.

"Thanks, I love you too," She says lovingly, "and I got us a place to stay at my old friend, Lucy's house, but she lives in Eastbourne," She states awkwardly.

"That's ok, we'll just get the next train," I said causally.

"But that's the thing, the next train until one in two days leaves in five minutes," She states grabbing her bag and running to the train station. It takes about three minutes and we just make the train. There were more people on this train then the train from London to Wokingham, so we didn't get a carriage to ourselves. It was about a 3 hour trip, so I set an alarm on my phone and we went to sleep.

-----------------------------------------------------------3 Hours Later-------------------------------------------------------------

I woke up to my alarm and instantly turned it off and looked over at Maysie who was still sleeping. I gently whispered her name three times before she actually woke up.

"We're getting off soon," I said softly as she was just awake.

"Oh, ok, I need to go to the toilet," She replied getting up and walking away. I get up and get our bags and wait for Maysie to return, which she does and very quickly.

"You ready?" I ask.

"Yeah," She reply's before yawning," Sorry."

"It's alright," I say as I turn around and go to the door. The train stops and we get off and Maysie gets us a cab. It's a five minute drive and we arrive at Lucy's house. Maysie knocks on the door and we hear foot steps running around until someone opens the door. It's Lucy. She looks to be about 5 foot 2. She has short brown hair fading to blonde. She was wearing a Starbucks top, a black skirt, a black beanie, and a pair of black boots.

"Maysie, you look so different," She said surprised.

"Do I?" Maysie replied even more surprised.

"Yeah, but I don't, I'm just the same old little Lucy, better life," Lucy joked, "Anyway, come in," She said letting us in. It was a small apartment with two levels. She took us to our bedroom which had two single beds. It was a nice little house and if we are allowed to, I could definitely see myself living here.
