Chapter 7- It's Been A While

Dan's P.O.V

It's been a month since the fight and Adrian is still in his coma. All his injures have healed, so we are just waiting for him to wake up. Mum and Dad come up once a week to see him. Maysie and Ben see him after there classes. Rose, Phil, and I see him every second day. Rose has told Phil she is pregnant and Phil is so excited. Phil and Maysie have become really close. I realized that it wasn't Maysie's fault that Adrian is in hospital and we are close too. I spend a lot of time with Ben now. The school said that Adrian can continue his cause with the rest of the class because his work was at excellence level when I sent in his application.

It's May now and Phil and I are doing our radio show. There's a song on now and the producer has pulled me aside.

"Do you know a Maysie or a Ben?" He asks me.

"Yeah," I replied unsure of what was going on.

"Here," He said and passed me a phone. I put it to my ear.

"Hi," I say unsure of what's going on.

"Dan, it's Maysie," She said excitedly.

"Hey, what do need?" I say still insure.

"Ben's here too, we are at the hospital and Adrian's moving! you have to come now!" Maysie says then squeals.

"What, are you serious? ok I'm coming," I said before hanging up.

"I have to go, its a family crisis," I say to the producer. He nods and calls Chris to do the rest of the show.

"Phil, I'm going to the hospital, Adrian's moving!" I shout to Phil.

"Oh my god! go Dan. I'll meet you there after the show," Phil shouted back.

I run out the building and get a taxi and go straight to the hospital. I run up the stairs as the elevator is already in use. I reach the floor and run to Adrian's room. There he was moving.

Adrian's P.O.V

I open my eyes and see Maysie and Ben standing by my bed and Dan looking tired in the doorway.

"Welcome back," Dan said with a grin on his face.

"Uh, am I in a hospital?" I asked.

"About that, um, what do you last remember?" Maysie asked.

"Um, I think I was on the ground, yeah, I was fighting that guy, I saw you guys running towards me and then my head was lifted and then it went black," I answered.

"Adrian you have been in a coma for the last month," Dan said walking up to me.

"Wait, WHAT! what about school, what about you guys, what is going on!" I shouted on the verge of tears.

"I'm going to get a nurse," Maysie said calmly walking out of the room.

"I think I'm going to help her," Ben said awkwardly walking out of the room.

"Are they dating?" I asked Dan with sadness in my voice.

"No, why would you think that?" Dan asked bluntly.

"They are roommates and Ben seemed keen on following her," I said still sad.

"Well they aren't dating," Dan said, "And about school they said you can continue classes as normal cause your application was at excellence standard."

"What, seriously, that's so cool," I said excited.

"Yeah, so don't worry about that," Dan said, "Anything else you want to know."

"How are you?" I asked nervously.

"Truth," Dan said

"Truth," I said

"Ok, it's been shit, not knowing whether or not you were going to wake up, but then still having to go on with normal life, then I also have mum and dad getting at me for being a bad brother and deciding whether or not to put you in the dorms," Dan said looking down with is bed cracking, "Adrian you can't leave, I didn't pay attention to you when you were little and I regret it, I need to spend more time with my brother."

He started crying so I hugged him.

"I don't want to go," I said not letting go of him. Dan stopped crying after a minute and sat down next to my bed. A nurse came in followed by Maysie and Ben. She told the others to wait outside and Dan said he would call mum and dad. The nurse said I have to stay over night and then I can go home tomorrow if everything goes alright and that the next week I have to be careful and I should be fine after that.

Dan comes in and said mum and dad are on their way and should be here in about two hours. Maysie and Ben come in and Maysie updates me about what they are doing in uni and Ben updates me on what he's been doing on skyrim. I'm talking to Ben when I feel arms hug me.

"Hey Adrian," I hear Phil's voice say.

"Phil!" I reply returning the hug.

"Rose is here too," Phil said pointing to her. She is getting a bit of a baby bump. Just smile knowing that a little Phil will be running around next year.

"How are you Adrian?" Rose said quietly coming to join Phil.

"I'm fine now, what about you?" I replied.

"I'm happy and pregnant," She said happily. I acted surprised as she didn't know I knew. Phil kissed her forehead and they turned back to me.

"So when can you come home?" Phil asked.

"Tomorrow if everything goes alright to night," I replied happily. Just then a nurse came in a told them that visiting hours were over and we had to leave. I fist pumped Ben and hugged the rest.

I lay there for about an hour thinking of all the things I could have missed. I know it been a month but a lot can happen in a month. For all I know I could be in the middle of world war 3, but I don't think that's the case cause it doesn't say anything in the news tablet that was on my side table. I started thinking about Maysie. I hope she is still single cause I want to ask her out. She is so beautiful, her smile makes me melt, I love they way she just grabs what ever to wear, the way she leaves her hair messy, the way she doesn't wear makeup, her sense of humour. I hope she likes me too. 

I then drift off to sleep thinking about her.
