Naruto awoke from his slumber remembering the night before. The shock finally caught up with him and he collapsed in tears. Mumbled words of hate we're directed at the fox sealed within him. The Hokage then walked into the room. 'I'll show him.'  Naruto thought. 'I trust Jiji...he'd never lie to me.'

"How are you Naruto-kun?" asked the old Hokage.

"I'm fine. Hey Jiji, can I ask you a question?"

"Sure."

"Why do the villagers hate me?"

The Hokage started to sweat at the question. "I don't know Naruto. Maybe it's because of your birthday."

'That sounds like bullshit, even to me.'

"Oh. Am I related to the Fourth Hokage?"

Now Hiruzen started to get scared. "What? Wh-Who told you this?"

"Is it true?"

"I-I don't know."

"Okay. Is Kyuubi inside me?"

The Sarutobi elder looked pale. "Naruto you need to tell me who told you these things. You can trust me."

"I just...hear it all over town. I'm scared Jiji."

"Its okay Naruto. Don't believe a thing they say."

"Okay."

"I...uh...have work to do." He left the room in a hurry.

"Suspicious..."

"Kurama? Was that you?" Naruto whispered.

He received no answer. With no one to talk to Naruto went to the Academy to talk to Iruka. As soon as he walked out of the hospital he got a massive headache.

"Here's a gift..."

The pain suddenly vanished as if he didn't have one at all.

"What gift! What was that!" Naruto yelled. He then realized the he was in public and looking like a weirdo talking to himself. He ran quickly to the Academy.

"Hey Iruka!" Naruto said enthusiastically.

"Hey...Naruto..." Iruka said through gritted teeth.

"What's wrong?"

"Nothing. Just my teeth aching." Iruka lies.

Naruto sees its a lie but ignores it. "When my teeth ache I go to Ichiraku Ramen!"

"Want me to buy you a bowl?"

"Oh yeah! Ramen here I come!"

"Only one bowl!"

"Aw..."

Two minutes later both Naruto and Iruka are enjoying their ramen.

"Delicious. Ramen is the best." You guys really make me feel good you know that? Make me feel wanted."

"Its okay Naruto."

Naruto was once again in pain caused by none other that Kyuubi. Naruto grabbed his ears trying to stop the pain to no avail.

"Here's another..."

"Are you okay?" asked Ayame.

"Y-Yeah my ears were just ringing. I'll be okay. Well see you tomorrow."

"Bye."

"See ya."

"Next time."

As Naruto walked away he could still hear them talking which was weird since he was pretty far away.

"Why do you serve the demon." said what sounded like Iruka's voice.

"He pays money."

"We spit in his food, of course but we only care about the money."

"I see."

"Speaking of the demon, why do you treat him like a friend?"

"I'm trying to look for the perfect opportunity to kill him."

"Have you found it?"

"Yes."

"Oh really? Do tell."

"Well he's going to fail the genin test and will become all depressed. Then Mizuki will come to give him the backup test."

"I thought their wasn't a backup test."

Iruka's grin was sinister. "There isn't."

"I see where you're going with this...please continue."

"Well the 'test' will have Naruto stealing the forbidden scroll, the Hokage sending out the order of capturing him, play a little act, then kill him in 'self defense'."

"This is pretty well thought out but what makes you so sure the demon is going to fail and steal the scroll?"

"Have you seen his stupidity?"

"Good point."

Naruto unable to hear anymore made a mad dash to his rundown apartment. Tears overflowing he cried himself to sleep. He awoke in a sewer with a madly grinning fox.

"I told you boy you can trust no one."

"Damn it! What did you do to me?!"

"I only gave you a few gifts." Kurama said innocently.

"What are they?"

"The ability to sense when a human is lying and the ability to hear far distances. Your eyesight will increase after tonight, then your height. After that whatever I feel like adjusting."

"It seems that you're the only on I can trust."

"Do you swear you allegiance to me? With my power you can have your revenge."

"After today...yes I do. What should I do master?"

"Play along for now. And when you become a ninja...show them the demon they created."

"Yes master. I will have my revenge!"
