Omen

The Watchtower

Omen hid where he knew no one would see him but he could still see the team. After a minute or two they went to go meet Black Canary and Robin trailed behind a bit. The little bird looked troubled, Omen wondered if he had connected a few more of the dots.

Omen wanted to reappear again, he wanted to tell Robin who he really was, he wanted to tell him that he was sorry. Omen thought about the last time that they had spoken to each other, it was so long ago. Robin, or Richard since that was his real name, had been waiting for him to show up for a few minutes.

Danny had to take a minute to work up the courage to show up, he knew he had to tell Richard. Danny showed up and Richard smiled and he hugged Danny and he had hugged his friend back. Richard looked at Danny and he looked at his best friend sadly, he didn't want to do this but he had to.

"I'm sorry Richard."

Richard looked confused, "Why are you sorry?"

Danny felt tears threaten to escape his eyes, "I can't see you anymore, I want to but I can't. They won't let me see you anymore, I'm so sorry Richard."

Richard looked sad and worried as well as a bit panicked, "Who won't let you, we can talk to them. We're friends Danny, I'm sure we can do something, I know someone that can help."

Danny shook his head and looked at the ground, the tears had finally fallen. "They won't listen, none of them will, I was only allowed to come here to say goodbye."

Richard looked sad, his friend was crying for the first time since he had met him. Danny looked Richard in the eye, he was still crying and the tears wouldn't stop but Danny looked determined. "I'll find you again, I promise, we'll see each other again and I promise I won't leave you again."

Richard looked slightly confused, "You don't have to leave at all, I can help you, just tell me why you have to go."

Danny smiled sadly, "Maybe you'll be able to figure out the reason little bird." Danny's expression turned serious again, "I promise I'll tell you one day, I promise I'll find you again." Danny took a few steps back, "See you later Richard." Danny turned around and disappeared, Richard tried to follow him but he was already gone.

Omen hated the fact that he had to leave the little bird but it was for the best, plus he had intended on keeping that promise. Omen followed the team to the room they had went to and he looked around once he settled in a hiding spot. The zeta tubes were behind the chick with blonde hair, Omen knew she was Black Canary.

She had her hands on her hips but when she say the looks on the teens faces she frowned and her hands fell limply at her sides. "What happened?"

Aqualad looked at her, "The boy we told Batman about snuck into the mountain, he disappeared a few minutes ago."

Black Canary's eyes widened, "Let's go to the Watchtower, I'll call a meeting and you can tell everyone what happened." They all left using the zeta tubes and after Omen waited for exactly two minutes he walked towards the zeta tubes. He had programmed them so they wouldn't announce who he was but he didn't want someone seeing him enter or exit the damn things.

Omen stepped through and the coast was clear for all of ten seconds before he heard someone coming and he hid. Once the two people had passed he hacked the systems to make sure no one would find him and he found the team. He followed them while he stayed out of sight, when they finally got to where they were headed they entered the room.

Omen snuck into the room and he was debating whether or not to mess with the League as well. Omen knew their secret identities as well, he knew how to beat all of them as well. Omen didn't need kryptonite to take down the kryptonians, he knew how to take them down without it.

Omen would just stay hidden and see if what happened, he wanted it to be a surprise. It was a good thing that Omen was able to not make a sound, the kryptonians wouldn't be able to hear him. They also wouldn't be able to see him as long as they didn't look up and use x-ray vision or something.

Omen waited for the meeting to start, it took five minutes for the damn leaguers to finally show up. They sort of slowly trickled into the room and once they were all there the meeting finally started. Batman looked at the team, "What happened?"

The teens all started talking at once aside from Robin who seemed to decide that he didn't want to get involved in that train wreck. Batman put up one hand to stop them and they all shut up, "Aqualad tell us what happened."

Aqualad nodded, "We were discussing some of the things we noticed about the boy we previously encountered. Then he showed up out of nowhere and asked us why we had shown up at two of his jobs."

Batman raised an eyebrow, "So he's a hired killer?"

"That would appear to be the case, in the end he answered a few questions we asked him."

Wonder Woman's eyes narrowed, "And you don't think he has something planned?"

Kid Flash cut in, "That's the thing, we asked him if he wanted to kill us but he said he didn't. If he wanted to kill us we'd already be dead, he could have been lying but he's not an idiot, he would have taken us out if he wanted to."

Martian Manhunter looked slightly confused, "What questions did he answer?"

Artemis had her hands on her hips, "We asked him who he is and he said his name is Omen, he's an assassin."

Miss Martian picked up where Artemis left off, "We asked how he became an assassin and he looked, well, sad." Omen was a bit shocked, he cursed himself for showing weakness but he couldn't change it now. The Leaguers seemed a bit shocked by what she said but they continued despite that.

Superboy spoke next, "Then Robin asked why Omen didn't kill him and Omen didn't really answer the question."

Black Canary raised an eyebrow, "What did he say?"

"He said 'Maybe you'll be able to figure out the reason little bird,' he just avoided the question then took off."

Everyone looked at Robin, who hadn't said a single word the whole time. Batman looked straight at him, "Care to add to this Robin?"

It wasn't obvious but Robin seemed deep in thought, "I'm just thinking, continue." The only one that seemed to want the little bird to speak was Batman but they moved on.

Kid Flash had a strange look on his face, "He did the creepy light thing and disappeared."

Omen smirked and his eerie laugh filled the room, all of the young heroes glared at Kid Flash. The only one that didn't was Robin since he was looking around, why does no one ever look up? Omen didn't appear like he usually did, he decided to let them wonder where he was.

"The young heroes have told the Justice League about me?" Omen's voice echoed around the room and no one could figure out where it was coming from, Omen laughed again. "This should be interesting, I like a challenge, good luck heroes, you'll need it if you want to catch me."

Omen laughed one more time as the lights flickered and he snuck out of the room. He went to the zeta tubes and he was gone without a trace, no one knew what to think of the events. Robin knew one thing for sure, he had to find Omen and talk to him without anyone else there.

The only question was how he was going to do that, he had to do the impossible.
