Omen got back to facility and he just got kicked around a few times, he had a job but after that they were going to punish him. Omen left when it was time to go out and do his job, he'd enjoy his freedom even more since he knew his punishment was going to be bad. Omen met with his contractor, Mia had called him again so he could take care of a drug lord.
The two had a disagreement and she hated the guy, plus an ally of hers was losing business to the guy. Omen went out and did the job, he found the guy counting his money and he was laughing. Omen make the lights flicker and he appeared, the guy freaked out when he figured out who Omen is.
Omen took out his gun and buried a bullet between the guys eyes after about five seconds. Omen wasn't in the mood to play around right now, he wanted to get this over with, maybe he'd go to the park. He disappeared and reappeared at Mia's so he could collect the money, the interaction was quick and easy.
He left and he went to the park, he felt like talking to his friend and even if he didn't he could still relax for a bit. After about twenty minutes Robin showed up and Omen waited a minute before he appeared. He walked up to Robin and smirked, "We must stop meeting like this, people will talk."
Robin smiled a little, "Yup, same as ever, you're still weird."
Omen sat down, "I'll take that as a compliment, so why'd you show up this time?"
"I wanted to ask a few question, I figured you wouldn't want to answer them in front of the others."
Omen hummed, "Alright, I'm willing to answer your questions, so what's the first one?"
Robin mentally sighed, "Did you know it was me when the team and I saw you in the warehouse?"
Omen nodded, "Yes I did, I didn't say anything though, I figured you wouldn't remember me."
Robin looked a bit shocked, "How could I forget you, you were my best friend, you are my best friend."
Omen laughed a little, "It's been six years since then and a lot has happened to both of us. Things like that don't really leave room for old memories, especially when there was a chance that we wouldn't see each other again."
Robin frowned slightly, "You promised that you'd find me again and I believed you."
Omen smiled just a little, "I always intended on finding you again, I swear I did."
"Then why didn't you find me sooner? Why did you leave at all?"
Omen's expression darkened, "Like I said, a lot of things have happened in the last six years. I'm an assassin, I wanted to see you again after I got away, I didn't want to see you when I was still there." Omen's hands clenched into fists and he looked a bit angry, he was angry at himself and those bastards controlling him.
Robin looked confused, "What are you talking about, get away from where, and what did you mean 'if I have to kill?" One question after another went through Robin's head, what was happening to his best friend?
Omen suddenly realized that he had said all of that and he stood up quickly, he was absolutely pissed at himself now. "I wasn't supposed to say that, forget I said any of that, don't tell anyone I said that." Omen looked slightly panicked, if they found out that he said that they'd hurt him, or worse, they could hurt Robin.
Robin grabbed Omen's hand and the assassin calmed down almost instantly. Robin looked into Omen's eyes, "What's going on, what are you talking about, what happened to you?"
Omen looked at Robin sadly, "Some things are better left unsaid little bird." Then Omen did something he hadn't meant to do, he kissed Robin, it was only for a second but he still did it. Omen quickly pulled away and snatched his hand out of Robin's, "I have to go."
Then Omen disappeared again and Robin tried to chase after him immediately, "Wait!" But Omen was already gone, Robin looked around but he couldn't find him and Robin hung his head. "I like you to." He whispered before he felt a few tears fall from his eyes and he wiped them away after a minute.
Robin walked back home and Omen ran back to the facility, why did he have to be so stupid? The closer he gets to Robin the more danger he's in, yet Omen couldn't bring himself to stay away. It was a bit sad to think that Omen was hiding right under Robin's nose, right in Gotham City.
Omen knew it would be all too easy for them to find the little bird and hurt him, Omen couldn't let that happen. The whole reason Omen started killing in the first place was to keep him safe, that's why he had to leave. They told him that if he didn't start killing they'd kill Richard and make Omen watch.
Omen said goodbye to Richard and he took his training seriously, it made him into the legendary assassin he is now. He never forgot about Richard though, he hated killing, even now, it just made it easier knowing that he saved a few people as well. Omen wiped away a few tears as he ran and by the time he reached the facility his expression was neutral again.
Omen had been right though, his punishment hurt, he could barely move by the end of it. He somehow managed to get back to his cell and lay down on his bed, he'd have a few scars from this. Omen closed his eyes and went to sleep, he had nightmares but he was to tired to really react to them.
When Omen's wounds were mostly healed he moved around like nothing was wrong. He got some food when he was able to move and he ate it slowly but he was really hungry. Omen had been thinking for awhile, he needed to see Robin again, even if it was to say goodbye for the last time.
