Omen

Halloween Special!

As soon as Omen woke up he jumped out of bed and he cheered, it was officially Halloween! He had never actually celebrated Halloween before but he had seen other people celebrate it and it seemed fun. Omen had actually made his own costume, he got bored and he had time on his hands so he figured that he might as well.

Omen decided to he death, however his version of death had a length of chain wrapped around his waist and manacles on his wrists and ankles and he wore black gloves. Omen decided to have the scythe, it was fake, strapped to his back using another length of chains. Omen was actually really excited, then again that was understandable since it was new and he could be like everyone else for one day.

He didn't even have to do something about his hair, it went with the costume so he didn't have to worry! He was trying to decide whether he should wear red colored contacts but he wasn't sure, maybe he'd ask his lucky bird. Omen looked around the haunt with a smile on his face, he had either made or bought Halloween decorations to make it look cool.

There was a shelf full of fake preserved organs and small body parts, fake webs, and fake blood along with some fake green blood. He used dry ice in water to create a fog at his feet and he had some cool lights that he wasn't using. He was pretty sure that Halloween was probably his favorite holiday, it was spooky and fun at the same time!

Omen nodded to himself and he went to the mountain, they had all agreed to dress up in costumes and hang out. They asked Omen if he'd dress up and he agreed to, partially because a few of them practically begged him to. Omen teleported outside the mountain and snuck in, he felt like his trick would be good for Halloween.

Once all of the heroes showed up they looked around and Aqualad raised an eyebrow, "Where is Omen?"

Omen laughed eerily, it sounded even creepier then normal, "Closer then you think." Omen made the lights flicker and he appeared, the heroes stared at him for a moment, they hadn't thought he could get any creepier. Omen crossed his arms, "Are you really that surprised?"

Artemis blinked, "Nice costume."

Omen shrugged, "Thanks."

Megan looked excited, "This is going to be so much fun, it'll be the best Halloween ever!" The young heroes agreed and Omen just hummed before Kid Flash thought of something.

"Have you ever actually celebrated Halloween outside before?"

"This is the first time I've ever celebrated Halloween, I have to say I like the concept." Omen looked at everyone's costumes and he couldn't say that he was surprised, he sort of expected it. Connor and Megan were vampires, Wally was a mad scientist, Artemis was a female devil that seemed to know how not to look skimpy.

Aqualad was Frankenstein's monster, Omen had no clue why some people said that he was just Frankenstein, he was made by Frankenstein. Then there was Robin, he was a specter, neither of them had planned that but it was wonderful. Everyone stared at him with wide eyes and Omen was a bit confused, "You've never celebrated Halloween?" Connor asked.

Omen shrugged, "I might have when I was younger but if I did then I don't remember it."

"So you've never gone to people's houses to get free candy during Halloween?" Robin asked.

Omen thought for a moment, "I can't even remember the last time I had candy." A few of the heroes looked horrified and Omen shrugged, "Hey that's life, well after life but you get the point." After the team had finally dropped the topic about how Omen's life was tragic they started making plans.

Omen was hidden, he decided to wear the contacts so he wasn't easy to recognize, so they could go out in public. They eventually decided to go trick or treating, you'd be surprised how many teenagers still did that, and watch a bunch of horror movies. For now they stayed at the mountain and Omen disappeared for about an hour, no one knew where he was.

Omen was setting up pranks for the team of young heroes, he didn't make it so they'd ruin their costumes or hurt them, just surprise them. Megan was the first to get scared by one of his pranks, when she walked into the room fake spiders fell from the ceiling.

Once Megan figured out what was going on she calmed down but the other heroes had come running because she screamed. When they saw the fake spiders Connor looked a bit angry, "Where are you Omen?"

Omen crossed his arms but Megan just laughed a little, "It's fine, it was just a prank."

Omen made the lights flicker and he appeared, "A harmless prank with fake spiders. Apparently some people play pranks on others, though it isn't as common as other traditions."

Artemis looked confused, "How do you know all of this? I thought this was the first time that you've celebrated Halloween."

"It is, I just looked it up because I wanted to know why and how people celebrate it. People believe it was started by the Celtics and it was called Samhain, they'd light bonfires and wear costumes to ward of roaming spirits. It's also a celebration for fall transitioning into winter as well as the upcoming harvest."

The heroes all stared at him for a minute before they decided to not question Omen and his endless facts. Throughout the day Omen had used the TV, trip wires, hidden pressure pads, and motion sensors to prank the heroes. Things would jump out at them or fall on them but none of it hurt them, Omen laughed every time someone got pranked.

Before any of them knew it the time had come for them to go trick or treating and Omen watched curiously. The others made him carry a bag and random strangers gave him candy, he was pretty sure that this was dangerous but the heroes didn't seem worried. Of course Omen had heard a kidnapping and he disappeared to stop it, he used to kill kidnappers after all. Other then that it was quiet, people commented on Omen's costume and he felt a little happy when they did. After several hours the heroes zeta tubed back to the mountain and looked at their candy.

Some of them traded and Omen had no idea what any of it even tasted like, he just knew that people liked to eat it. They also made sure it was safe since people did occasionally put dangerous things in the candy. Omen just watched them curiously, all of this was new to him and he had no clue why people even gave candy to kids that knocked on their doors.

After that they watched horror movies, Omen got tired of listening to them argue about what movie to watch so he looked up a list. The watched the top three movies on the list, the third was the Ring, the second was the Blair Witch Project, and the first was the Exorcist. Omen wasn't scared of them but he was interested in them, he didn't watch horror movies often.

Towards the end of the third movie most of the heroes had fallen asleep, by the end they were all asleep. Omen would have tried to get up so he could go home but Robin had fallen asleep on him. Omen mentally shrugged, he might as well stay for a bit, he wasn't in a rush to get anywhere after all.
