The team was in the living room/kitchen, Miss Martian was baking and everyone else was watching TV. The only one that was nowhere to be seen was the little bird, where was Robin? Robin had been looking through Omen's list ever since he had talked to the assassin.

Robin had found a few things that might have linked all of them but it was proven wrong every time. It had been two days and he was starting to get frustrated, what did they have in common? Robin had noticed a familiar name while he had been looking through the list, Tony Zucco was among the people Omen had killed.

Who had hired Omen to kill Zucco, Omen had killed him recently to, what did he do? Then he looked at a few of the names and he noticed something, was that the connection? Robin typed in a few commands and he waited for the results, he was hoping he had found it.

Not even a minute later the results showed up and his eyes widened, he had found the connection. He ran out of his room in the mountain and his teammates seemed a bit shocked. Then the zeta tubes announced Batman's arrival and everyone ran to where Batman was.

Robin was the fastest he skidded to a stop not that far away from Batman, he had to tell everyone what he found. No one knew that Omen had followed them into the room and was looking at the little bird with curiosity in his eyes. Everyone else was even more confused and Robin looked straight at Batman, "I figured it out."

Batman raised an eyebrow, "You figured what out?"

Robin began to pace, "Something was bothering me about the people Omen has killed. He dropped this when he was at Mt. Justice a few days ago," Robin showed them the black book. Omen nodded at the cover story, Omen wouldn't be that careless but they didn't know that.

"I looked at the names that were written down and they were all people that have died. They all died from stab wounds to the heart, slit throats, and one was killed by a bullet going through his head. Omen has guns and from the looks of it that was the first guy he killed with his guns."

"So I looked over the list and I looked at all of the information on them for several days. I was stuck when I thought of something and I was right, there's one thing all of Omen's victims have in common."

Now everyone was interested in what Robin found, Aqualad took a step toward Robin, "What did you find?"

Robin smirked, "All of his victims are either criminals or have been accused of a crime that they got away with. It was obvious that all of the ones that got accused actually did it but for some reason they weren't convicted. He only takes jobs when he's killing a criminal, even then he makes their deaths quick."

Everyone was shocked but Omen was just happy, proud even, his friend figured it out. Omen thought for a moment and decided that showing up now wouldn't hurt, he smirked. Omen laughed eerily and seconds after that the lights flickered and when they stopped he was standing in the room.

He clapped with a slight smile on his face, "So the little bird figured it out, I'll admit, I'm impressed."

Batman looked like he was ready for a fight, "How did you get in here?"

Omen's smile was gone and he looked at Batman, "News flash Batsy, update your systems. It was way too easy to make it so your security systems didn't recognize me, again." Batman was about to speak but Omen cut him off, "Your right little Robin, I only kill criminals."

Omen walked up to Robin and plucked his black book from the birds hand and walked past him. "I'm not careless enough to leave this lying around though, I left it so you'd find it. I wanted to see if the lucky Robin would be able to figure it out and I wasn't disappointed."

Robin looked confused, "Lucky Robin?"

Omen faked a shocked look, "You didn't know? Robin's are seen as a good omen, they bring people luck and happiness, I guess that makes me the crow then."

Superboy looked confused, "The crow?"

"Crows are a bad omen, it's especially bad when seen to someone's left, it's said that the left is the side of the devil."

Artemis crossed her arms, "How do you know all of this?"

Omen shrugged, "My name is Omen, I might as well know a few things about good and bad omens. Now back to the matter at hand, the lucky Robin figured out what no one else has, I applaud you." Omen emphasized his point by actually clapping for a few seconds.

Then Omen stopped, "I feel like you should get some sort of prize," Omen pretended to think for a second. He snapped his fingers, "How about I answer three more questions, Batman can be the one to explain what happened to the Justice League this time."

Batman glared at Omen but the assassin just wanted to laugh at the look, "No use glaring Batsy." Most of the teens looked shocked but Robin was looking at Omen closely, there were so many things he wanted to know.

Robin crossed his arms, "Why do you only kill criminals?"

Omen's eyes glazed over for a brief moment, everyone saw it and Batman's eyes widened just a bit. Omen quickly got rid of the look, "You heroes are all the same, you only see in black and white. There's actually a very big gray area in between the two, that's what heroes refuse to see."

"If I brought those criminals to jail they'd just get out again, and again, and again, they won't stop. How many times has Joker gotten out of jail, what about Parasite? They just escape and hurt even more people, they've killed a lot of people and they aren't going to stop."

"If I have to kill I'd rather kill people that will hurt others if I don't, I've actually saved people by killing those criminals. One man beat his kids to death and he forced his wife to help him cover it up, she was terrified of him. That guy had been beating her and her kids for years before he got drunk and went overboard."

"After I killed him she ran to the police and told them everything, she got community service. Now she has a steady job, a new family with two kids and another kid on the way, and she even has a dog. She's happy and doesn't have to live in fear anymore because I killed someone, does that seem bad to you?"

What he said make all of them freeze, no one caught the 'if I have to kill' part except Robin. Before Robin could say anything Miss Martian took a step towards Omen, "Did that really happen?"

Omen looked at her with a blank expression, "The little bird has the list of people I've killed, the man was convicted after his death. If I'm lying then it won't be there but I can assure you that it's true, you don't have to take my word for it though."

Omen looked at Robin, "You have two questions left."

Robin wanted to ask what he meant by 'if I have to kill' but he knew Omen wouldn't answer, at least not with anyone else around. He quickly thought of another one, "Who hires you to kill people?"

Omen shrugged, "There are a lot of them, I won't give you any names though, they're guaranteed silence from me. You've got one question left lucky Robin, better make it count."

Robin hesitated, "Why do you keep showing up out of nowhere, why come to a place where you know heroes are?"

Omen thought for a moment, "Curiosity." They all wanted to question what that meant but Omen cut them off, "That's all the time I have for now, until next time heroes." Omen disappeared and everyone looked around to see if they could find him, seriously these guys need to look up.

Omen snuck out of the mountain and he went back to the facility, he was definitely in trouble by now.
