It Happened That Summer

Chapter 15

Luna's P.O.V

I slept at Caleb's house that night. The next morning when I woke up, he was gone. Nowhere to be seen. I got out of his bed, brushed my teeth, and washed my face. Then I saw the razor on the sink. It was calling out to me. I picked it up. Then I slid the cool metal across my skin. It felt amazing. It's weird, I don't feel pain anymore, only relief. It feels good. I do it again then I sigh in relief. Then I swipe the blade across my skin 4 more time until I have a few lines of crimson red. I love the feeling of all the weight being taken off my back. I kept cutting and cutting until my arm was covered in Ruby red lines trailing down my arm. Then I started to get lightheaded and dizzy. I heard the door open. I was still bleeding out. I couldn't do much. I think I might've cut a little too deep. I may die.

Caleb's P.O.V.

I walked into my house and called Luna's name. She didn't answer so I thought maybe she was still sleeping. I walked into my room. She wasn't there in bed. I started getting worried, then I called her phone. It started ringing from the bathroom. I swiftly ran up to the door and knocked. "Luna!! Luna it's me Caleb, open the door." The door was locked and all I heard from the other side of the door was crying and whimpering. The worst things that could've happened were running through my mind. I picked up my phone and called 9-1-1.

Operator:"9-1-1 what's your emergency?"

Caleb: it's my girlfriend, something is wrong with her! She locked herself in the bathroom and she's crying!

Operator: an ambulance is on the way.

I didn't want to risk anything with Luna so I started looking for the key to the bathroom. I then realized that this was a waste of time and Luna's life may be on the line. I started trying to break down the door. "Luna, it's okay, you're okay, I love you! Everything is going to be fine!"

The door burst open and on the floor of my bathroom was Luna, covered in cuts, bleeding out onto the floor. I went beside her and stroked her hair out of her face. "Don't leave me Luna, please, I love you, everything is going to be alright." I kissed her forehead and the EMT's rushed into the room, grabbed my girlfriend out of my arms and told me to go in the ambulance. They told me she's in critical condition and she may not live. I started crying and I was hoping that she would stay alive and her heart would keep beating.
