Zelda's POV
"Knock, Knock," said the door as the sound resounded throughout the marble walled room. "Ugh... five more minutes," I called out tiredly.
five minutes later
"Knock, Knock." I groaned and sat up, "who is it? Come in," the door opened and a Zora woman entered the room wearing a bright smile. "It's time to wake up, the King sent me here to fetch you." She walked further into the room and set down a tray of food beside me. "Thank you." I stated, and she left the room, I sighed and looked around the room, "Zora architecture is amazing.." I said before I spotted Link sleeping beside the bed, I shook my head.
"Even before Calamity Ganon struck, you would sit at my door if you couldn't sleep in my room. You would be awake all night so that you would sleep into the morning." I said quietly with a soft smile, my blue nightgown protecting me from the mornings chill, as I leaned over towards Link and whispered "Link." He didn't respond, "Link" I said again, and he stirred. "Come on! Get up we have stuff to do!" I said with a smile as Link suddenly jolted awake. He stood up, his hair was ruffled, and his eyes were tired. He walked over to the door, nodded, and then left me alone to change.
I scarfed down my food and got dressed in my blue and white attire in less then 5 minutes. "Let's be off," I said, as I opened the door. I found Link standing beside the door frame, his eyes showed concern. "It's fine! Once we get to Rito Village everyone can rest easy." I️ said as I walked down the hallway with him trailing behind, he looked tired and worn. Once we get to the archery range near Rito Village, right off of the Hebra Mountains and up above Tabantha Frontier, he can rest easy, or so I️ hope.
As I was walked down the marble halls a loud "BANG" shook all of Zora's domain. Link suddenly stood on guard, "what was that?!" I heard people yelling. I paused then looked back at Link, "come, let's go." I said as we pushed past other Zora and out into the open air of Zora's Domain. "Gah!" I yelled as a bright flash of light shot past me, Link caught me as I began to fall. He pulled me back into the hall, then ran back out into Zora's Domain's frosty air.
"It can't be..." my bottom lip quivered, and my eyes widened in horror as I peered out over the side of the hall entrance.
And that's when I saw it.. it's harsh, cruel, eye, staring back at me... a Guardian, towering over us at a height of 30-40 feet. My breath got caught in my throat, I can't breath! I fall to the ground clutching onto my chest as I begin to hyperventilate. I heard the prince calling out to me as he ran down the hall, panic evident in his voice. "Princess! Princess!" I calmed down, and my breathing slowed. "Are you alright?!" He had asked me this- with eyes laced with worry, and is that... fear? After making sure I was alright he immediately looked out to where Link, my knight, stood valiantly. The sword that seals the darkness in his hand and his Hylian hood was down, allowing his golden locks to sway back and forth calmly. His resolve was absolute, he stood tall, and his eyes shone through the dark aura. Bright blue eyes that can be so harsh, harsh enough to make even the strongest man or woman flinch. What are we going to do? What is Link going to do?Link's POV
The princess, the Zora, myself, Mipha... I stand here, absolute in my ways, this is how I must be... my gaze is stuck on the Guardian's. I am no more than a knight to Princess Zelda, no more, no less. It is my duty to fight to protect her, no matter the cost, no matter the circumstance. I tightened my grip around my sword as I ran towards the guardian "HYAAAAHHH!" I yelled as I jumped into the air in front of it and brought my sword down upon the Guardian's head. I pulled my sword up out of his head and attempted to slash downwards again, when suddenly an arm came up and grabbed me harshly, swinging my body to and fro before slamming me roughly into the ground. My head hitting against the marble was enough to make everyone wince. I sat up, blood dripping from my head as I grabbed my sword and cut off one of the Guardian's arms, I was then free from his grip. I stood, my bones shifted, and my body was going numb. Not good, not good, not good!
I took a step forward, but my body couldn't take it, I collapsed onto one knee. My head lowered as I let out a large breath of pain. Another arm came forward and grabbed me again, but this time it squeezed me, making the air burst from my lungs. My throat was on fire, I couldn't breathe, my body was weak, and I was dizzy from the previous attack. The arm then went and threw me into one of the railings, which I broke through and hit hard against one of the thick pillars. The sound of bones breaking could be heard. "I..I...I can't.." I said while coughing up blood. I heard a sound, but it sounded as if I was at the bottom of a well. It echoed, and echoed, my vision was blurry, I attempted to focus but to no avail.
Until I felt a piercing pain course through me, light flashing before my eyes. "Gah!" I coughed up more blood, and I was shaking. As I was about to seal my fate... a man appeared before me, blocking the next light attack with his shield. He pulled up his bow and took aim, an ancient arrow! He fired the arrow, finishing off the Guardian, before turning to face me. His feathers danced in the wind, and his eyes were soft yet harsh. I reached out towards him, my bones creaking, until everything simply faded to black."LINK!"
