A few miles down the road and we reattached to our former unit, they moved slowly and reluctantly, as if they were waiting for someone, as if they were waiting for me.
But, as we regrouped not one man spoke, all of them resorting to sympathetic looks. And then as if realizing how they looked upon me, they changed that look to a fake and guilt ridden smile.
I didn't need their pity, I was one that didn't deserve such a high honor. I didn't deserve the right to speak, or even the simple right of being able to breathe on my own terms...

The men and I traveled through rough and unforgiving terrain as we made our way to Zora's domain. Giant, steep and daring mountains surrounding us as we hobbled through the darkening landscape. We were close...
It didn't take long for the rain to start pouring, it's harshness drowning out the complaints of the soldiers as we now walked in complete darkness. The only light we had, a flickering flame that soon vanished with the oncoming rain.
Trotting over a hill we finally saw the blue marble bridge supports and overhangs of the Zora bridge. The men were cheering as we raced down the hill and to the entrance of the brilliant bridge. Zelda's gorgeous white steed trotted down the bridge, her men following close behind. I stood behind to make sure no monsters had followed us, as I listened closely to the surrounding nature. As I stood there I️ had suddenly heard the soft crunch of leaves to the right of me. My head shot to the right as a bokoblin jumped up from behind a rock that sat just beside the Zora bridge. I pulled out my bright blue guardian shield, blocking the attack easily, while I swung my blue sword down onto his shoulder, turning him into a cloud of smoke.
Not hearing any other sounds I retreated across the bridge to the Plaza, in Zora's domain. "Ah Princess Zelda, you've finally arrived," Prince Sidon welcomed, as Zelda carefully slipped off her horse. "I apologize, we ran into a bit of a problem near the Great Plateau," she said while bowing her head. "It's quite fine," he looked up and examined the crowd. "I'll attend to the injured. Please, my father is waiting for you," she nodded, walking up the stairs, I pushed through the crowd and began walking behind her. Before I was rudely grabbed by the Prince himself, "you are of no exception Link." I looked up at Zelda, and she simply waved me off. I sighed softly then looked back at the red skinned Zora and nodded in understanding.
The prince escorted us to the healing pools, where all the men sat down and began getting treatments for their injuries. The prince sat down beside me as I watched the men getting healed. "Aren't you going in?" The prince asked me, and I simply shook my head. "Why not?" He asked curiously as he leaned back on his hands, I looked at him intrigued. I could've sworn I saw a light pink dusting his cheeks, but then again it could've just been his skin tone. I'd- never actually seen the Zora Prince this close before, he looks like he's out of a fairy tale. I just shook my head and looked away, "not going to answer then?" He asked and I don't respond. He looked at me for a while before he stood up and picked me up making me struggle against his grip. "Ah!" The prince walked over to one of the healing pools and three me in, head first. I sat under the water for about 5 seconds before I surfaced, gasping for air, I looked up at the Zora Prince and growled. He waded into the water, "then you should listen to me when I tell you to come into the water and heal!" He said exasperatedly as he gently grabbed my arm and began healing me.
The Zora Prince's soft hands as he traced them up and down my arms, healing them, was enough to make any normal person turn bright red and pass out. But, I had no real interest in the Prince, he was just another leader that we must visit to try and rebuild Hyrule to its former glory. Nothing more, nothing less, or so it seemed at the time. As he stood there healing my arm my mind suddenly flashed to Mipha, we were sitting atop the divine beast Vah Ruta. Her hand was hovering atop my arm and she told me that no matter what, she would be there to heal me, in dark and in light. My eyes lowered, pain filling them, and sorrow trying to escape but I couldn't let it, I didn't dare to.
The Zora prince stepped away as he had finished healing my rugged wounds. I waded out of the pools, completely soaked from head to toe and walked over to my bag. I pulled out my Champion's tunic, and my Hylian trousers. The Zora prince stared at me as I pulled my shirt off, he even gasped a little when I had completely removed my shirt and thrown it to the side, pain struck through his eyes like lightening does in a thunderstorm, as he stared at the rough and rugged scars that traced my back. I turned to see what he was gasping about when I noticed he has been staring at my back. I pulled on my Champion's tunic swiftly, and quickly changed my pants. I tied my hair back up into its bun, then grabbed the bag and hooked it onto my horse's saddle.
The prince, once seeing that I was finished with my changing, escorted me up blue marble stairs to where Princess Zelda stood negotiating with the Zora King. As I walked up the blue marble a strange sensation flowed throughout me, I froze, only a few more steps until I had reached where the princess was. A sudden ominous red light covered all of hyrule, as my blue eyes cut through the darkness and into the sky, monsters began appearing from out of thin air. One of them appeared with a bow pointed straight at me, I swiftly pulled out my blade, it flickered a bright blue, before it became a solid blue light and moved it in front of me...
