As a gym leader, my role is to provide a challenging battle to opponents who are equally as challenging. I chose to make my gym a multi-type gym, allowing each member of my party to participate in the battles. One day, I finally got my first challenger! Clemont and Bonnie came to watch the battle, cheering for me the whole time. I chose a three-on-three battle, winner takes all format. First pokemon I sent out was Rayla, my Luxray. My opponent, not thinking well enough, sent out a Frogadier. I smiled, commanding Rayla to use Thunder Fang, one-hit KO'ing the poor Frogadier. Next, my opponent sent out a Floette. I called back Rayla, sending in Ember instead. Since Mega evolution wouldn't be fair, I didn't mega evolve her, and instead, made her use Blaze kick directly. It ended up being a critical hit, knocking out the poor floette. The trainer then forfeited, realizing that he wouldn't win my badge easily. I smiled, said thanks for the battle, and waved goodbye as he left. Clemont chuckled at me and said "You don't like taking it easy do you?" I smiled. "Nope, I expect challenging trainers to face me especially if they plan to face you someday." "Good point (Y/n)" he said smiling. That night, we had a victory dinner at one of the many Cafe's in Lumiose city. I had made Macarons and Pokepuffs for everyone to enjoy after we had gotten back to Prism Tower. I was so happy that night, I couldn't sleep. Clemont came and laid beside me again, and I managed to calm down a little, but until he put his arm around me I couldn't fall asleep. It was a great first day as an official gym leader.
