I woke up with a smile on my face.
December 25 was shown on my phone when I checked the time.
I went down to discover Shane already eating breakfast.
"Hey, how come you didn't wait for me?" I said with a mock fake expression.
"Good morning to you too." She did while chuckling.
I went behind her and gave her a back hug. Shane is pretty much everything to me. Without her, I don't think I can survive.
"Merry Christmas dear best friend." I told her with a smile on my face.
"Merry Christmas to you too. Thank you for taking me in that one night, yea?" She said.
"And thanks for taking care of me." I told her. She just laughed.
I finished my breakfast and started heading for the stairs.
"Hey Alex?" She called out.
"Yea?"
“Can you please head to Walmart and buy me a bottle of coke?" She asked.
"Yea sure." I headed up and washed my face.
I pulled my hair up in a messy bun and put on my favorite white shirt with a pair of ripped jeans.
I grabbed my wallet and my favorite coat discarding my car keys since Walmart is just near.
I went straight to the drinks station and was greeted by a familiar face.
"Oh hey, Minghao, right?" I called out to the guy with straight blue hair. I recognized him as the guy from McDonald's.
"Oh hi. Merry Christmas.. Umm, sorry I don't think I got your name." He said.
"Oh it's Alex. Merry Christmas too." I said. He looked over my shoulders for a bit and bit his lip, focusing his eyes on me again.
"Look, Alex, I'm really sorry, but I have to do this." Then I felt someone hit the back of my head before darkness engulfed me.
Shane's POV
It's been quite awhile since Alex, where could she be?
Ring Ring
I went to open the door to find Ren and Vernon there.
"Oh, hey guys." I said.
"Hey, where's Hayley?" Vernon asked.
"Oh I sent her to buy a bottle of coke." I said.
"Oh okay. Why don't we watch a movie while waiting for her?" Ren said, a bit of worry masking his face.
"Yea sure." I said while inviting them in.
We finished the whole movie, but Alex didn't arrive yet.
“Hey, just try calling her.” Ren said, fearing the worst.
I called her three times and all went straight to voice mail.
"I'll try tracking her phone, Vernon go look for her." Ren said, worry lacing his voice.
Vernon went straight to Walmart.
I helped Ren track her, but it seems like it's impossible.
Twenty minutes have passed and we still can't track her down.
Ring Ring
I answered my phone.
"Hello? Any news there? She's not in Walmart." Vernon said.
"Just wait a bit, I'll call you again, yeah?" I said as I hang up.
After an hour we finally tracked her down in an abandoned hospital in St. John's street.
I quickly called Vernon.
"Vernon, she's in the old St. John's hospital. The fourth block." I said and immediately ended the call.
I hope she's alright.
Her POV
I slowly fluttered my eye lids open as I felt all my strength draining.
Where was I?
I looked around to discover that I was in some kind of hospital. Tied up in a chair.
"Help." I said with all of the strength I could muster.
Then I heard that laugh. The laugh that haunted me for years. The laugh the man gave before he killed my father.
My eyes then focused on the man.
"Oh, dear Alex is finally awake." He said.
I could only look at him.
"Hey Alex dear, doesn't this scene feel familiar to you?" He said.
Then everything came back to me.
"Daddy, please help me!" I had cried then as the man raised his dagger to stab me.
I remembered closing my eyes, knowing that it would hurt.
I felt him swing his arm, but I never felt the pain.
I remembered opening my eyes to see blood, just that it wasn't mine.
I saw how my daddy smiled at me one last time before he closed his eyes.
The sirens then sounded too loud, blocking all my cries, since they came all too late.
I felt tears running down my face as he spoke again.
"Oh don't cry, Alex. This time, no one's gonna save you. I'll finish you of now."
He pointed the gun at me and I closed my eyes, yet again.
Bang.
