It was a similiar night to the one he had broken up with me on. The clouds drifted over the sky, blocking out the stars. The streetlights in the distance were blurred by the heavy fog rolling over Seoul. It was depressing, and we were depressed.
My members and I were walking home to the dorm. On this night, there was no laughter or giggles. We had just spent 15 hours practicing and we were exhausted. Sure we were used to this lifestyle, but today it felt like nobody could get the moves right. The choreography was so messy. It was a hell of a day for our choreographer, and us.
Just as we were almost to the dorms, I realized I had forgotten my phone. I fumbled through my purse, hoping it was there, but it wasn't.
"I forgot my phone. I'll have to go back and get it.", I sighed.
I turned to head back, but Jennie stopped me by touching my arm.
"Hold on, should you really be going by yourself? Shouldn't someone go with you? ", She asked, her voice laced with concern.
I shrugged, forcing a smile, "Jenniiee it will be fine.", I whined, "You guys are already tired. You don't have to suffer on my behalf. Get home and get some rest, I'll be there too, soon."
After a bit of encouragement, the other members finally agreed with a sleepy nod of their heads. We parted ways on the sidewalk, 3/4ths of Blackpink heading to the dorm, the remaining 4th going to YG Entertainment.
I'll admit, I was a bit creeped out going by myself. If somebody attacked us, I could usually sacrifice Lisa and run. However, there was nobody to protect me when I was by myself.
I soon reached my destination, YG Entertainment. The YG building is huge, easy to spot from far away. I can still see it even from my dorm room. The other members were probably looking at it right now. Still, it was a little unnerving having all of those dark windows staring down at me. In the daytime all the lights were on, but right now they were turned off for the night.
I headed into the empty company parking lot. I assumed most of the doors would be locked so I walked to one of the backdoors of the company.
In my trainer days at YG I used to explore this place with the now Blackpink members and the other trainees there at the time. I smiled, remembering fondly the girl who would have been the fifth Blackpink member had she not left the company before our debut.
My hand moved to turn the door handle, and I had a startling realization. The door had been left ajar.
A chill went up my spine. Was somebody trespassing on the company?
I squinted and glanced around at my surroundings, but it was too dark to see anything more than creepy silhouettes. I was starting to regret my decision to go alone.
"Ok Jisoo... It's all fine... Somebody probably left it open this morning...", I mumbled to myself.
It was probably safer in the building where there were lights then outside anyway. With one last glance over my shoulder, I stepped into the company. It was pitch black. I would have to find a light switch.
Stumbling around the room, I finally found the wall where the light switch was.
"Thank God...", I breathed a sigh of relief.
I clinged to the wall, my hand drifting along the surface to find the protruding nob.
A loud thump came from above the room.
I froze, eyes widening. In a frenzy I started using both my hands to find the light switch. At last my hand brushed over it, and I swiftly flicked it.
Light flooded the room, blinding my eyes. I collapsed to the floor, legs shaking. Now that I could get a look at the area, it was just the familiar storage room.
But I would have to climb higher to get to the practice room where I had left my phone. I hadn't even left it in an inconspicuous area. I put it on the laptop that played our music.
I stayed in the corner of the room for a couple minutes. My head rested on my knees as I thought of what to do. I didn't want to go upstairs in the dark, but I also didn't want to go back empty handed. My members would make fun of me for getting scared.
After a while I finally came to a decision. I would bravely continue on my quest for the phone.
As I walked through the dark rooms I freaked out over every inanimate object I saw.
"Stay away!", I screamed, hiding behind a door. I thought I saw a man. On further inspection, it was just a coat hanger.
"D-d-dog!", I gasped, hiding behind a box. It was just another box.
I was physically shaking by the time I reached the stairway.
"Oh great YG PD-nim... Protect me from monsters... I'll do better in practice... I'll clean your office desk..."
I mumbled promises to a made up divinity as I climbed the stairs. I had found an umbrella prop downstairs and was now using it to guard myself.
I reached the top of the stairs, and the practice room. I breathed a sigh of relief. As I turned on the light. Everything was as I had left it.
"And I thought someone was here-"
Suddenly I heard a loud sneeze. I turned my head to the side and in the corner of the room a hooded figure was trying to hide underneath a table. He had a camera clenched in his hands.
My heart stopped beating. A saesang fan.
This was unacceptable. With a loud warrior screech I ran at the cowering hooded figure and started beating him with my umbrella repeatedly.
"What are you doing in my studio!?", I yelled like a madwoman.
"Wha- stop- I can- ow- explain- Stop it!", His voice was deep like a mans, as he growled at me.
His large hands yanked the umbrella out of my own, depriving me of my only weapon. Realizing I was screwed, I shrunk away from him. I covered my face with my arms incase he tried fighting back.
"Don't hurt me...", I squeaked.
"I'm not the type of guy you think I am, ok?", He sighed.
He tried to keep his face away from mine so that the hood could cover it. I narrowed my eyes at him with suspicion.
"Then what are you doing here with a camera?", I demanded, pointing to it on the floor.
He picked it up and checked it over to make sure it was ok.
"I just...", He paused in embarrassment, "Wanted to see where Bigbang-sunbaenim practiced...", He mumbled.
"Sunbaenim?", I wondered out loud, "Wait, just who are you?"
He flinched, but apparently he wasn't the type to lie because he gave in pretty easily. The hood fell off his head to reveal his face.
"I'm... Uh... Kim Taehyung..."
