I didn't speak to Taehyung for a month or so. Our schedules kept us busy, and we had no way of contacting each other. I doubt I would have contacted him had I received his number anyway. I had only known him for a night.
I knew we would both be performing at Music Bank, so we both would be backstage. Would he come to see me?
I sat thinking over things in the waiting room. All our staff was there, and so were the other Blackpink members. We were all ready in our stage outfits, we were just waiting for the announcement to go on.
On the wall there was a flat screen which played live footage of the stage. BTS hadn't performed yet, but multiple other artists had. Everytime another idol group was set to go on, I focused on the screen. However, my interest faded when I realized it wasn't BTS. Lisa noticed and poked my arm.
"Are you hoping to see someone?", She teased.
I stuck my tongue out at her. "No, are you?"
She smiled softly. "Bambam from Got7."
I scrunched up my face up in disgust. I had met the Got7 members before, and Bambam seemed the least appealing to me. Must be a Thai thing.
There was a knock on the door. "Oh? They're early.", One of the staffs mumbled, opening it. My eyes glanced hopefully to whoever had entered, but it was just an assistant there to give us our cue.
"You're on in 5.", They said.
The four of us tensed at the words. My brain went abuzz trying to remember the dance moves and lyrics. Of course I had gone over those things so many times they were practically second nature to me, but you never know what could happen on stage. Technical issues happened all the time.
4 minutes left.
I walked through the hall which led to all the waiting rooms.
3 minutes left.
We passed by a couple other idol groups, and we exchanged polite greetings, but we were in a rush, so we didn't pay much attention to them. Finally we were right behind the stage.
1 minute left.
I could hear the murmuring of the crowd grow quiet as the stage went black. We rushed into position. Only a couple more seconds now.
The lights came on, the bouncy music began to play, and their voices erupted. My adrenaline spiked as soon as my body began to flow with the music. There was no moment more sensational then this. When were on the stage, communicating with the fans with the lyrics, putting our heart and soul into our movements, I felt like my heart might burst with excitement.
We started with Lisa, our opening dancer.
Little bit of that
Little bit of this
Little bit of that
Gimme gimme gimme
Gimme little bit of that
She passed the stage off to Jennie, who sang her lines, before passing them off to me, and then Rosé. The crowd ate it up, loving the moment as much as we did. Together we became one body, dancing and singing as one. This was what it meant to be a team. This was what it meant to be an idol group.
We had the time of our lives for three minutes. Eventually though, the song came to a close. My heart still beat with the rhythm as it faded.
I sucked in wild gasps of air as everything went dark again. My stage outfit clung to my body with sweat as we exited the performance area. Once I was off the stage, I returned to ordinary Jisoo, the complete opposite of idol Jisoo.
I laughed, releasing the nerves that had built up on stage. The staff gave us a thumbs up before sending us back to our rooms where we would be shipped off to the next event on our schedule. With trembling legs I waddled down the corridors in my high heels. Somehow I could dance, but not walk in them.
