'Misfits'

We are just

    misfits

Excluded from this world

    forever

And together we shall

   fight

For our

   justice

And our

   happiness

Because we deserve that

  justice

And that

  happiness

We had

   never

Had a

  chance

To

  get.

Rebecca POV

I am in a writing club after school. There are about five people in it. This kid James in my grade is an amazing writer.

So, we were about to do a show where we stand up in front of our class and read our poem. My English Teacher is the head of the club and I made him read it for me. He read 'Rain' for me and said it was by 'Anonymous.' Everyone around me was saying,"That was really good." "That was deep." "Awesome!" "Who wrote that?" I wanted to say, "Thank you," or "I did", but I didn't have the heart.

Another girl read her poem, a girl who had always been mean. At the end everyone was jumping and clapping for her and congratulating her when she walked back to her seat with her nose pointed up and a satisfied smile on her face.

She's just getting me jealous, and everyone already forgot about my poem.

This kid Luke was up next, and his poem was surprisingly amazing. It sounded vaguely familiar. I looked over at James. His mouth was open in shock. When it was his turn, he couldn't even read it he was crying. The poem Luke read was James's poem.

At the next meeting, I told James," We're a couple of misfits. We're excluded from the world. We try to find our way in, but everyone will push us out. We never get our justice and happiness, because they get it before us. We are misfits and being misfits isn't fair."

James looked at me with his green eyes, took my hand and said, "We are misfits together."

At the next poetry show, my teacher read my 'Misfits' poem. James and I looked at each other and smiled.

We are misfits.
